Providing external links to incomplete drama articles
The way we've been doing this in the Japanese drama sector is just leave the kanji version. Then we would use the Japanese Wikipedia or JDorama.com to fill in the missing information. For example
TV Series
- This is an example drama (これは例ドラマです) (NET, 2007)
I would rather have you guys do the same thing for the Chinese articles. Also, the Japanese editors are NOT aggressively blasting the artist articles with every drama he/she's ever been in. We KNOW that many of the Japanese artist articles have incomplete listings of TV dramas. But what we do instead is just let the list build SLOWLY as we find them ALONG with creating the missing TV drama. I would recommend you do the same; if the TV drama doesn't exist, just leave it out for now and someone out there will eventually come along and add it as well as the TV drama article itself. This is the way IMDB does it: you can't add the TV drama to the artist unless the TV drama article has already been created. If we don't do it this way, we're going to end up with hundreds of articles with nothing but red links - and that looks REALLY bad. Groink 00:59, 2 Apr 2007 (CDT)
- I understand. This is currently a problem the mainland Chinese section is facing right now because at present the creation of drama articles on the mainland Chinese section is slow. The problem with mainland dramas are the fact that it seems quite impossible to add to them relying on dramarings or such so personally I would prefer the red links to encourage editors to try to create them, and from my experience from the other sections, it does seem to help. Hopefully as time goes on, the page will look better as more articles are created --A10203040 01:52, 2 Apr 2007 (CDT)
- Okay, I'm cool with that. Yeah, I don't know a single thing about the Chinese drama scene. I would've thought there would be a lot more English-written information than Japanese shows, considering Hong Kong is an English-speaking area (but then again that could be yet another thing I don't understand!)
