About Makiko
Makiko is a screenwriter with deep interest in Sumo. Among her works are Hirari in 1992, Mori Motonari in 1997, and Watashi no Aozora in 2000. She is currently taking graduate courses at the University of Tohoku in Sendai, studying religion and sumo history. She is also a member of sumo's Yokozuna Deliberation Committee (YDC), the governing body of the sport of Sumo in Japan that deals with Yokozuna issues.
