I'm pretty sure you're not going to understand my logic here. But, I'll state it for the record. Whenever we associate character names with artists, it must be done so that we're not giving away any plot information. Unlike Wikipedia and IMDB, we DO NOT give out plot information. Regarding Aoi Tori, the name associations you're trying to push can be considered a spoiler. In your edit, someone who has never watched Aoi Tori is going to realize that there's a reason why the character changes her surname to her father, rather than keep her mother's. That's a spoiler. I agree that it's possible to realize that there's some reason, but how can it be considered a spoiler? Sorry, but that's ridiculous. If this is a spoiler then what about the fact that Yamada Maiko is credited as Shiori in the article? It clearly says that there is a moment in the drama when a lot of time passed and the character of Shiori was played by another actress. Isn't this a spoiler for you? Then you should remove Yamada Maiko from the list totally or at least a character name.

Isn't it better to name a character as like in opening credits thus people who didn't watch AT may not understand at all that it's the same character and there won't be any spoilers?--Kawada_Shougo 11:39, 28 Jun 2009 (UTC)

Having Yamada Maiko listed in the cast listing is NOT a spoiler. All a reader would see in this is that the character grew up. In Japanese dramas, this is a common thing. Having a character change her surname is NOT common. Groink 12:19, 28 Jun 2009 (UTC)

DramaWiki guidelines

Before you go on lecturing me about Wikipedia guidelines, let me remind you that DramaWiki has its own guidelines. I could care less about Wikipedia guidelines, because they do not pertain to DramaWiki. Wikipedia's guidelines regarding names and romanization methods do not pertain to DramaWiki. The guidelines of DramaWiki regarding artist names are:

1. The most popular romanized spelling should be used - regardless of the romanization used. A top-rated search engine like Google or Yahoo should be used to determine the most popular romanized spelling. More specific, the arrangement that generates the most number of results should be used on DramaWiki unless a majority cannot be determined. A variation with 55.1-percent or more should serve as the majority. When searching, always place the entire name or phrase in quotations. For example, search engine testing for Sakai Noriko should be entered as "Sakai Noriko" (including quotes). Use of macrons can be used in the search process to improve on your searches, but they should not be used when adding the romaji text to DramaWiki.
2. If the artist or TV show's official web site provides the hiragana and/or the romaji of the name, it should also be used on DramaWiki. If the romaji is available on the web site, use it regardless of the romanization system used to create it. This is the case where a consensus on the Internet has not been developed, usually occuring when a new artist or TV show is introduced or the search results are too close to call. "Too close to call" under DramaWiki is when two variations are divided 50-50, or within 5-percent or less of one another.
3. If an official web site does not provide the hiragana or romaji, use the hiragana as provided on Japanese Wikipedia, and then develop the romaji based on the hiragana using the inspiration of the Hepburn romanization system, along with changes made specifically for DramaWiki to address changes to Hepburn due to repetition throughout the Internet.
4. If the artist or TV show name is not on Japanese Wikipedia, then the DramaWiki-modified Hepburn romanization system should be applied on the kana.

If you're going to be a renegade editor and will do your own thing regardless of the rules here, I suggest you pack up your bags and go somewhere else. 00:32, 6 Jul 2009 (UTC)

I don't understand, are you trying to insult me or what? Who are you to do this? I'm the same user as you and the fact that you are longer here than me doesn't give you the right to threaten me. I'm trying to make this site better and it seems that you don't like it.

And back on topic. Thanks for the rules but I know it without your help. Why do you ignore the first and the most important criteria - "The most popular romanized spelling should be used"? Did you even try to use Google and Yahoo as it said in the rules? I tried. Google gave me 16,200 results with "arisa mizuki" and 16,800 with "alisa mizuki" (and where is 55.1% here?) and Yahoo gave me 64,200 results with "arisa mizuki" and 36,200 with "alisa mizuki" (no comments here). So what's your problem? Who is a renegade editor now? And about secondary criteria about official site name. It's said "it should also be used on DramaWiki", but it's not said "it should be used instead". So what's a problem with addition of the both names as I did before?

The second criteria trumps the first criteria. "should also be used on DramaWiki" mean "it is used on the artist's official page, therefore it should also be used on DramaWiki." That is the context of that sentence. See Ito Misaki for other examples of this ruling. I'm reading that guideline over and over again, and I can't see how one would get the logic "use both #1 and #2" out of it. I'm not objecting you mentioning both Alisa and Arisa as the artist's name. BUT, you REPLACED Arisa with Alisa throughout the article, and THAT'S NOT COOL! That is like replacing "color" with "colour". Arisa IS the namespace, and therefore this romanization is to be used throughout DramaWiki when referencing this artist.

So once again, other wiki systems have their own things going for them. We do things differently here. Also, whenever an editor starts off a comment on your talk page, you KEEP all related comments on your talk page. We don't split the convo between two talk pages - that is common wiki practice. As for me not being here as often as I should, there are two reasons. One, I have total faith in pinkpineapple to maintain things. And second, I've injured my right arm, and am seeking physical therapy. I can only type and use the mouse with my left hand. Not that it is any of your business, but at the same time the amount of time on DramaWiki has no relevance to anything. I wrote the rule book, per the administrators' request, and I'll continue to maintain the rules. Groink 01:36, 7 Jul 2009 (UTC)
