- Screenwriter Kamata Toshio adapted his writings from Yoshikawa-san's book Miyamoto Musashi. Yoshikawa-san's book stopped at the duel at Ganryu Island between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro in 1612. Kamata-san and NHK also tied in the Tokugawa shogunate with the Musashi taiga drama.
