Synopsis
Our family is our sanctuary... or at least that is what everyone believes. However, every family is at risk of falling apart over the slightest trivial matter. This drama is about one such family, the Asakura family. The Asakura husband and wife are deemed as the ideal couple by all who knew them; their colleagues, their neighbors.
Asakura Tomoko feels that she could not be any happier, after moving into her spanking new home. Soon after, her entire life starts to fall apart, starting from the day she accidentally knocks down Takamura Yoko with her car, at the junction near her home. One by one, she discovers the hidden faces of her family members. Her husband Tatsuhiko's infidelity and embezzlement scandal; her son getting a girl pregnant, subsequently quitting school to work at a gasoline stand and moving in together with her; her daughter deciding to prostitute herself out, and having an affair with Yazaki Osamu, a co-worker of Tatsuhiko. For the sake of her marriage and her kids, Tomoko exhausts all ends in trying to bring her family back together again. Despaired and hurt, soon Tomoko herself too turns away from it all and begins an affair with her first love, Yanagi Koichi.
A family that was once tight-knitted falls apart at the seams. Everyone seems to be now living their own life. For all intents and purposes, there doesn't seem to be any hope left for the Asakura family. Unless everyone comes clean and bare their souls to each other. Telling herself that that will be the way for her to rebuild the ties that bound their family together, Tomoko decides to once again give her all to restore her family back to the warm and loving family they once were.
