Synopsis
The first of NHK's SP series depicting the works of mystery writer Yokomizu Seishi featuring his famous detective character, Kindaichi Kosuke. In 1946, discharged soldier, Kindaichi comes home from the war. His war buddy Kitou Chimata died before they could reach Japan. Before Chimata died, he uttered the words, "My sisters will be killed!". Kindaichi goes to the Kitou family home in Gokumontou, an island in the Seto Inland Sea to investigate the matter. To everyone's horror, the Kitou sisters were indeed killed off in a series of grotesque murders. Kindaichi resolves to clear up the mystery amidst family intrigues and island mentality in a turbulent postwar era.
