Synopsis

The modern office worker Yang Ling unexpectedly enters the fantasy-filled Dafeng Dynasty where there are Confucians, Taoists, Buddhists, demons, and warlocks. He takes on a new identity as Xu Qian, who awakened to find himself in prison and is about to be exiled to a frontier town in three days' time. He undergoes an evaluation by an organization of guardians responsible for supervising officials and solving cases in order to change his fate; and successfully becomes a guardian. Using his modern knowledge, scientific understanding, and reasoning skills, he successfully cracks one bizarre case after another, earning the title of Dafeng’s top investigator.
