Arata Iura is a Japanese actor and model. He was born on September 15th, 1974 in Tokyo. He made his debut in Hirokazu Koreeda's film After Life. However he rose to fame after starring in another Hirokazu Koreeda's film Distance and Ping Pong.
Iura went by the name ARATA until he changed his stage name to his real name in January 2012. Having recently filmed 11.25 The Day He Chose His Own Fate, in which he portrays the late author and fierce nationalist Yukio Mishima, he reportedly felt being billed in alphabetic characters in the end credits wouldn’t look appropriate.
He also created his own fashion line called ELNEST CREATIVE ACTIVITY.
