Synopsis
Based on a semi-biographical novel about the historic Suzuki Shoten that operated its business in Kobe from the Meiji era to the Showa era. Suzuki Yone had married the head of Suzuki Shoten, Iwajiro. Although Yone's character often clashed with that of her austere and conservative husband, she slowly progressed into her role as a wife and the mother of the Suzuki heirs. However, Yone's life was turned upside down with the sudden death of her husband. As the head of the family and the company, Yone was referred to as "O-iesan". With the support and guidance of Kaneko Naokichi, a self-made man from a destitute family, Yone grew the company from a humble sugar wholesaler to one of Japan's biggest trading company. by YTV
