2007-2016: GG Debut, TTS and Musical Theater
Seo Hyun was formally reveal to the media as part of Girls' Generation on August, 2007. She caused a lot of conmotion knowing that she was the youngest member to join the group, the group began to acquire more and more success since they released their first single titled Gee. Seo Hyun started working on several singles with [[Jessica and [[Tiffany, the first called Oppa Nappa and the second called Mabinogi (It's Fantastic), which was the theme song of a video game.
She performed the song 'S.E.O.U.L.' with Rye Wook, Sung Min, Ye Sung and Dong Hae from Super Junior and their Girls' companions Generation Tae Yeon, Jessica, Soo Young and Sunny. She also performed the song for Caribbean Bay with her classmates Tae Yeon, Jessica, Tiffany and Yuri along with 2PM.
She performed a song for the official drama soundtrack of MBC's Kim Soo Ro, called It's Okay Even If It Hurts. It was heard in the sixth episode as the last song. The single was released on June 25, 2010. On August 29, 2010, Seo Hyun joined Jung Yong Hwa on stage, and had a dual performance Girls' Generation with Run Devil Run and CNBLUE with Love Light at the Incheon Korean Music Wave 2010. The concert was televised on September 4th on MBC's Show! Music Core.
In April 2012, the first subunit of the Girls' Generation group, it was named Girls' Generation-TTS, it had as its members Seo Hyun, Taeyeon, and Tiffany. The first EP released by the new subunit was titled Twinkle which was an immediate sales success, and quickly ranked eighth among the year's best-selling albums. For two consecutive years, they would continue to release two more EP's, these were titled, Holler and Dear Santa that was released in 2014 and 2015 respectively. She then became an even more active in her role as a songwriter in many of Girls' Generation and TTS songs.
Seo Hyun took her first step into acting in 2013 when she appeared in a small but pivotal role in the SBS drama Passionate Love. She was praised in her short appearance by the drama's director Bae Tae Sub.
From there on she began appearing in several musical plays due to the inclination she felt towards them. In January 2014 she made her debut in a musical play in the highly successful Moon Embracing the Sun, she played the lead role and her performance generated a series of positive reactions in the public and mixed reactions in the critics.
The following year she would appear in the musical Gone With The Wind playing the pivotal and leading role of Scarlett O'Hara. On this occasion, her performance and vocal skills were praised as being better beyond her debut. From February to June of 2016, she appeared in the leading role of Sophie in the musical Mamma Mia!, Seo Hyun's performance was heavily praised for her performance and singing by both critics and audiences.
She then starred in the Chinese romantic comedy So I Married and anti-fan, the film was a smashing hit with audiences and critics. She then starred as part of the ensemble in SBS' fantasy melodrama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, her performance in the drama series received some praise by critics and she won an acting award at the 2016 SBS Drama Awards.
2017-: Solo debut and Separation from SM Entertainment
In 2017, Seo Hyun released her solo debut album, an EP titled Don't Say No, the album has a mixture of musical genres so diverse such as Pop, R&B and even funk, the album enjoyed huge sales and it was critically acclaimed. She then starred in MBC's procedural drama Bad Thief, Good Thief, the drama series was successful and it was moderately praised.
In late 2017, she announced to be parting ways from her agency SM Entertainment after her contract for them ended. Her activities as a member of Girls Generation have not yet been discussed and no statements have yet been made to the media. She has lately devoted herself to her facet as an actress, recently appearing in the lead role in MBC's melodrama Time.
