Creating new TV Show pages

First of all, let me welcome you to the team at DramaWiki. We are always in need of enthusiastic and dedicated contributors to maintain the site. So, thank you for your efforts.

I have noticed that you have created a number of new show pages for upcoming KDramas (Two Cops, Mad Dog, Doubtful Victory, Trapeze). While I appreciate your zeal, unfortunately the submissions themselves are greatly lacking, missing necessary info and features to meet DramaWiki's standards. Show page creation is one of the more challenging tasks to do here, as there are great many required components to each page. I suggest you completely familiarize yourself with DramaWiki Style Guide.

As someone who creates a lot of new KDrama show pages here, I would recommend the technique that I use myself. When I create a new show page, I always start by copying the entire page for an existing show to use as a template, preferably on the same network and timeslot. I then replace the titles, dates, cast, categories, etc. as needed. It saves a great deal of work and insures that you don't leave out anything.--FritzB (talk) 13:39, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Air dates

Hi again. I've noticed that you have been adding specific air dates for a number of KDramas that will not premiere for many weeks or months. This probably serves no useful purpose. First of all, the TV networks schedules are not firmly set that far in advance, so the dates are merely guesswork. Until the network officially announces a show's premiere date, we usually leave off the day. Likewise, the projected end dates for shows are always subject to change. Holiday pre-emptions, sporting events, breaking news specials, or even labor strikes (as happening right now at KBS & MBC) frequently change the end dates. That's in addition to the shows themselves, which may be shortened or extended at the whim of the networks. For these reasons, we don't usually put specific end dates on shows much more than a couple weeks in advance. --FritzB (talk) 14:08, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Show synopses

You have been adding a number of show synopses which appear to be taken verbatim from other popular drama websites. While this is permissible, you really should credit the original source. You can see an example of such a credit here: Go Back Couple. --FritzB (talk) 14:23, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

Add "upcoming" tag for new drama pages

Hi again. When creating a new page for an upcoming drama, please remember to add the upcoming tag to the top of the page. Thanks! --FritzB (talk) 14:30, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Remember to add drama page links on each cast & crew members' pages

When adding new cast or production to show pages, please don't forget to add the drama title to each corresponding person's page under their TV Shows credits. These links are not automatically created when you add them to a show page and unfortunately must be added manually. It's best to do them at the same time, so that they aren't forgotten.

Also, for any cast or crew member who currently doesn't yet have a Artist's page in DramaWiki, add the person's name in Hangul in parentheses next to their name - example: Cha Jung Won (차정원). Given all of the possible spelling variations to names, the Hangul name makes it easier to positively identify the artist and find them again once the Artist's page is created at a later date. Thanks! --FritzB (talk) 14:49, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Please check your links

When adding credits, please make sure to check that you linked to the correct person. Many Koreans have the similar names and there are often multiple people with the same name in the database. You linked the director credit on the drama Suits to Kim Jin Woo (an 11-year-old child actor) instead of Kim Jin Woo (director) (the veteran KBS director). --FritzB (talk) 18:18, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi I have read your messages. Thanks for the information ^_^ --1dintheam

Creating new show pages with little or no info on them

Hello again. I don't wish to be too critical, but you continue to create new show pages that are lacking even the most basic information on them, such as your new show page for Double Play. A page like this serves no useful purpose. Anyone looking to update the page would likely just blank the page and begin again.

Again, I suggest you completely familiarize yourself with DramaWiki Korean TV Show Article Formatting Style Guide.

For confirmed upcoming shows, please add the upcoming tag to the top of the page.

For unconfirmed dramas, such as ones without a confirmed broadcast network, use the tag unconfirmed at the top of the page. Frankly, it is probably not very useful to create pages for these unconfirmed shows are only in the planning stages and many may never actually be produced.

Also, all new KDrama pages should include category tags at the bottom of the page. At the very least, you should use: and and/or . If the broadcast network is known, include the appropriate category for that as well, such as , , , , etc...

I don't wish to discourage you from continuing to contribute to DramaWiki, but please stop creating such incomplete pages like these. It leaves a big mess for other people to clean up.--FritzB (talk) 17:37, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

I agree with FritzB on this. I see that you had created empty pages with only an external link as the sole content. While I don't have problem with missing info, you have to provide some info under DETAIL and/or CAST sections. No just tags like nocast. How about the title, the genre, the network, or who the main leads are? If you can't provide any of those info in addition to your external link, then don't create the page right now. Wait till you do. As a reader, I get frustrated when I click on a page and only see skeleton setup. So please take the time and add just a little bit more content. Thanks. --WaterOB (talk) 17:40, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

Okay, noted. 1dintheam (talk) 8 October 2017
