We're using the Hepburn rules to establish the lettering, but we're also dropping the special characters like "ō" in order for the letters to be search compatible with various web search engines like Google. If you do not believe me, try this exercise: Log onto Google and perform two searches: "NHK Kōhaku" and "NHK Kohaku". As of this writing, there are 143 hits for "NHK Kōhaku", while there are 17,500 hits for "NHK Kohaku". This is because characters like "ō" differ from "o" in the ASCII chart, which is what computers use in comparison or sorting routines. You also have to remember that until the early 1990's, computer keyboards could not even produce the "ō" character, which is why a great number of articles and such do not use it.

:::I would not recommend it. If for any specific reason, it is to keep the wiki database from becoming too bloated. Currently there are 3943 valid articles on DramaWiki. There are actually 9111 articles, but almost two-thirds of that number could be re-directs to the 3943 articles. If we said it was okay to do so, we could see literally tens of thousands of redirect pages generated, which IMHO isn't something we really need here. Remember that DramaWiki is a division of D-Addicts. And the DramaWiki, D-Addicts message board, and the tracker all use the same resources. So basically we just stick with the most popular spelling of words and go with that. I also noticed someone created a redirect page for a nickname. I want to avoid creating those as well. Hello, sorry to ask you staight away, but how come I'm in Vandalise list?
I don't know how to use it properly but I really don't understand WHY i'm in Vandalism list. I deleted incase because it could be your mistake to put my name on it. I think I didn't do wrong thing.
I use be moderator (and know) of japanese wikipedia (Jdrama part) but didn't know some of the rules of this d-addicts wiki becuase some of the rules are different.
I didn't do bad thing becuase I try to change the WRONG information to the RINGHT one but you just change it beck to the wrong information becuase you didn't trust me.(Was 東京タワー　速水もこみちinformation was right? Yes it was) I was really shocked because I thought you are good person at d-addicts. Tokyo, 2006. Minami Fuji is riding a train along Tokyo Bay. Weary from a day's work, she falls asleep while on the train. Her nap time is obstructed by the sound of somebody's cell phone ringing. She opens her eyes to see the phone lying unattended on a nearby seat. Reluctantly, she answers the phone. It's a man claiming to have dropped his phone. He wants Minami to deliver it to him before his job interview begins. However, since Minami too has a meeting she must attend, she takes the phone to the lost and found department of a nearby station.

On her way to work, Minami spots an old commercial being shown on a big-screen TV. She immediately takes a picture of it with her camera. That's when she realizes that someone else is also absorbed in the commercial. It's Yuya Ishida, the young man who called to have his cell phone delivered.

Kyotaro Imaoka, creative director of an advertisement agency, is having a meeting at an insurance company with Kunio Sakuragi and Satoshi Hagiwara. Minami soon joins the meeting. They have come to give a presentation for the new TV commercial for their company.

Meanwhile, Yuya has arrived at the place where he will have his interview. He is immediately given a tour of the office as well as a lecture on commercial planning. He has no idea that Minami has returned to the office and is having a meeting with Kyotaro and the others.

Later on, Yuya delivers mail to Minami. At first, she doesn't even look up at him. But when she does, it only takes 15 seconds—the same length as a television commercial—for Minami to realize that she had ran into Yuya while watching the commercial on the big-screen TV, and it was also his cell phone that she picked up on the train.
