==Synopsis==
Setsuko ([[Hisamoto Masami]]) used to be a very popular manga artist in the past. However, according to recent reader surveys she was ranked as the least popular manga artist for 3 consecutive months. Setsuko also has a step-son, but her demanding job puts a strain on their relationship. On the other hand, Tamaki ([[Hirosue Ryoko]]) is a charismatic and successful gourmet writer. One day Setsuko's publishers decided to cancel her manga series. But then her editor comes up with the clever idea of creating a manga about gourmet food. For background material Setsuko uses her Grandmother's old cooking notebook. Eventually the manga becomes very popular. However, Setsuko began running out of material to write about. That's when her editor decided to bring in Tamaki to help Setsuko come up with new original material.

===Synopsis===
Makino Tsukushi is the only poor student at Eitoku Gakuen, the school of the ridiculously rich and privileged that is ruled by Flower 4 or F4, a group of four boys who come from extremely powerful families: Domyoji Tsukasa, the leader and heir of the Domyoji World Finance Group; Hanazawa Rui, the introverted son of a large company; Nishikado Sojiro, a player who is the heir of a tea ceremony school; and Mimasaka Akira, a madam killer with ties to the underground. If a student gets on the F4's bad side, he gets a red notice and is bullied and driven out of school.

Makino hopes to pass her days quietly-- without drawing any attention to herself-- but one day, she stands up to Domyoji in defense of her friend. The next day, Makino gets the dreaded red notice. Even though she is harassed, Makino decides to keep going to school because she is a "tough weed". She declares war right back on the F4. Her resolve gets the attention of her crush Hanazawa Rui and oddly enough, rouses romantic feelings in her worst enemy, Domyoji Tsukasa.

The series is based on the Japanese shoujo manga "Hana Yori Dango" (Boys Before Flowers) by Kamio Yoko.

===Synopsis===
This second season of Hana Yori Dango picks up right after Domyouji leaves for New York. After confessing to Domyouji, Makino has not spoken to him for a year. Rui and the other members of F4 try and help Makino meet Domyouji again by going to New York for the christmas holidays. Though F4 and Makino meet Domyouji again, he has become a completely different person, and so they leave for Japan.

Some time later, Domyouji's mother annouces that they will be returning to Japan. There, they hold a giant super-rich and classy birthday party for Domyouji and annouce something very important. Domyouji, like in the first season, is engaged to a rich girl and heir. The only difference is that they are to be wed soon. What will Makino do?

On the side, Rui begins to fall in love with Makino... will this become a love... square?

==Synopsis==
Based on the autobiographical book by Lily Franky. The novel is about Franky's family and the time he spent with his mother.

It's January, 1989. Masaya is living in an abandoned hospital with his mother in Chikuho, Fukuoka. Even though he's in high school, Masaya is still heavily dependent on his mother, Eiko. Eiko cherishes her son like he is still a little child. But as he grows older, Masaya becomes embarrassed at Eiko's passion towards helping people out.

It's career counseling day at school. Masaya deliberately goes to school late and fails to turn in his career assignment form. His teacher is fed up with Masaya's attitude and scolds him for not telling his mother about the meeting—which is usually attended by parents. He is called to the teacher's office after playing hooky with his best friend Kohei Yamada. With the application form of a Tokyo art university hidden in his bag, Masaya finally heads to the counseling room.

Masaya is shocked to see his mother in the room. Seeing his mother there, Masaya storms out of the room claiming that his stomach hurts. Eiko runs after her son which irritates Masaya. Seeing the beautiful sunset, Eiko says that she saw a similar sunset before with Masaya.

It's 1979. Masaya is living in Kokura, in Fukuoka Prefecture with his mother, grandmother, and father, Choji, who comes home drunk, and kicking the door open. Because of her husband's habitual drinking, Eiko leaves home with Masaya to live with her mother, Haru, in Chikuho, Fukuoka.

Taken to a city where he has no friends, the only person Masaya can depend on is his mother. Everyday when he leaves for school, he claims that his stomach aches. Eiko must calm him down and send him to school. Eiko is now working part time at a diner owned by her sister, Kanae. She also works at home during the evenings to support her son. When Kanae tells her that she's overworking herself, Eiko says that she doesn't want Masaya to feel unhappy.

Seeing that Masaya has no friends at his new school, Eiko finds friends for him: Kohei and Kazuo. Eiko invites the two boys over for dinner and prepares a huge feast. Masaya is proud to have such a mother. Every summer, Masaya visits Kokura. His grandmother is thrilled to see him, but his father is always grouchy.

Eiko and Masaya eventually move out of Haru's house and start living in an abandoned hospital. Out of the blue, Eiko buys Masaya a brand new motorcycle. Masaya drives the motorcycle to Kokura to see his father. There, Masaya tells his father that although he doesn't have a goal, he wants to go to Tokyo. His father is overjoyed to hear this. He advices Masaya to learn many things in Tokyo. At the same time, he emphasizes the importance of telling Eiko about going to Tokyo.

Once he returns to Chikuho, Masaya is shocked to learn that Eiko has cleaned up his room. The college application form he was hiding was neatly put away too. Seeing this, Masaya yells at his mother. "This is the reason I want to leave home!"

Two weeks pass by without Masaya talking to his mother. In need of money to take the art university exam in Tokyo, Masaya begs his aunt Kanae for money. But Kanae scolds him for not realizing how hard his mother worked to raise him.

Masaya heads to Tokyo for the exam. On the bus to Tokyo, he meets Manami Sasaki, who is also on her way to Tokyo for an entrance exam. In Tokyo's beautiful night scenery, Masaya sees Tokyo Tower shining with particular brilliance.

[[Yonekura Ryoko]] and [[Takashima Reiko]] celebrated their 30th and 41st birthday respectively on the set of Nyokei Kazoku on 27 July at TBS Midoriyama Studio. On this day, they had just finished filming a funeral scene before the surprise celebration.

Yonekura turns 30 on 1 Aug while Takashima turns 41 on 25 Aug and the celebration also saw fellow cast members, [[Seto Asaka]], [[Kashii Yu]], [[Sawamura Ikki]] and [[Asada Miyoko]] offering their well wishes.

Yonekura said that she had intended to get married by 29 but that is no longer possible. Upon hearing that Takashima got married at 34, she decides to make that age as the aim to get married by. She says that she is concentrating on work and feels that it is hard to balance work and marriage. However, Takashima says that being married for 7 years, she feels that she has tried to balance marriage and work for so long and offers advice to Yonekura to think it over. In the beginning, it looked as if this drama was going to be typical and boring. It begins with a father and son who have just lost a wife and mother who died at a very young age. They are trying their best to cope with their loss and have gone through the funeral and all of the after-death formalities. Because the son, Yuuji is still a first-grade student, he is having a very hard time understanding what has happened to his mother and the fact that she won't be coming back.

At the very beginning of the first episode, the voice of the late mother (played by [[Mimura]]) is reading from a picture book that she wrote for Yuuji before she died. It is about a mother who dies, but promises to return when the rainy season comes. Yuuji believes in this story and thinks that his mother will come back when the rainy season comes. And surprisingly... she actually does.

When it begins raining on a June morning, Yuuji runs out into the forest to the special place where he used to play with his mother. His father, Takumi (played by [[Narimiya Hiroki]]) chases after him to get him to go to school. When they arrive at the old ruined building where they used to play, Yuuji's mother, Mio is waiting there completely alive and healthy, but she has no memory of them or anything that occurred during her life.

Yuuji and Takumi take her home to live with them again. Mio doesn't remember their home or anything else, but after seeing pictures of herself in some photo albums, she is convinced that Yuuji and Takumi are her family. She doesn't know, however, why she has lost her memory and is completely unaware of the fact that she is supposed to be dead. Yuuji and father have to do their best to make sure that she doesn't find out about this, as there's no telling what effect it might have on her.

So the three of them are living together once more. However, things are far from the way they were before. Yuuji and Takumi can't allow Mio to go anywhere where she might run into anyone who knows her, or she will find out that she's supposed to be dead. This causes Yuuji a lot of pain and confusion since his mother can't come to his school for special events like the other children's parents do. (Mio actually does go outside, but so far she has only met people who didn't know her when she was alive.)

Also, Yuuji and Takumi are always trying to help Mio to regain her memory, but have little luck. She seems to subconsciously remember only a few things like where her seat was at the kitchen table. This causes both Yuuji and Takumi pain since his Yuuji's own mother has forgotten things about himself like the fact that he's allergic to strawberries. And Takumi has to get used to the fact that Mio doesn't remember falling in love with him, and basically has to get Mio to fall in love with him all over again.

Finally, Yuuji and Takumi have to live with the constant knowledge that Mio will eventually disappear just as suddenly as she returned. She comes close to disappearing already in the first episode. The story book says that she will have to leave at the end of the rainy season. Takumi thinks about asking Mio to leave in the second episode, because he believes that it will be too painful for Yuuji when she eventually disappears, but he eventually decides that Yuuji can handle it since she's already disappeared once when she died.

Well, this is kind of a strange drama, and it will be really interesting to see what they're planning to do with this story as it progresses. It's strange seeing Narimiya Hiroki play such a kind and gentle father after his previous roles. He was a bad boy in [[Orange Days]], and he was downright evil in the 2003 remake of "koukou kyoushi" with [[Ueto Aya]] and [[Fujiki Naohito]]. But if you can forget about all that, he works pretty well in this type of role too.

This drama is interesting because it takes a totally fantastic concept and places it within a very realistic and down-to-earth setting. So, instead of being cheesy or stupid, it's quite dramatic and real. I'm definitely going to stick around and see what happens in this one.
