Synopsis
Star in My Heart is one of the core Korean television drama classics that helped kick-start the red-hot Korean Entertainment Wave throughout the world.

Yun-Ie (Choi Jin Shil) was raised in an orphanage and later adopted into a hostile family environment. Yun-Ie's stepfather holds genuine affection for her, but her stepmother looks down upon her and treats her cruelly. Yun-Ie even has cruel stepsiblings, just like Cinderella! But this is a Cinderella story where Cinderella takes her fate into her own hands, and instead of one Prince Charming, Yun-Ie has two heroes to help make her life a success. The first is Kang Min-Hee (Ahn Jae Wook), a young man who goes against his father's wishes to become a successful singer. The second is Lee Joon-Hee (Cha In Pyo), an operator of a fashion design company. Joon-Hee helps Yun-Ie with her career, and is attracted to her because she resembles his ex-girlfriend. But Joon-Hee is also friends with Min-Hee, and will not compete with his friend directly. It's up to this Cinderella to choose her own Prince Charming...

One of the early ambassadors of the Korean Entertainment Wave, Star in My Heart has all the perfect K-drama elements: great story, star power, charismatic heroes, despicable villains, unforgettable music (sung by Ahn Jae Wook), twists and turns, and many memorable moments. You'll find yourself watching this classic again and again!
Review
This is a great comedy drama about Kyung Min (Kim Rae Won) and Jung Eun (Jung Da Bin) who live together in a "house above the roof" (literal translation of "okh tap bang"). This drama has got to be the best k-drama of 2003 for me as it brings in such a refreshing and lively plot that is realistic at the same time. This drama has so many cute and funny moments that there had been many times when I caught myself laughing uncontrollably at the attics of Kyung Min and Jung Eun, watching the drama alone in my room. Kyung Min and Jung Eun plays very cute characters in here which makes them the most adorable couple. Kyung Min plays an irresponsible player in the drama who is full of mischief, flirtatious with the girls and can be a total jerk at times. However, the drama progresses with Kyung Min slowly stepping out of his immaturity as he discovers his new found affection towards Jung Eun. The drama explores realistic scenes of two people living together, their hardship, friendship and eventual love that developed. I love the hundred adorable expressions by Kyung Min and Jung Eun which makes this drama one of my favorites for 2003. Though a light and comedic drama, it is not without the melodramatic element that makes this a worthwhile drama to watch. The acting of both lead actors bring in the appropriate chemistry, with hilarious moments coupled with emotional scenes all in one. Lee Hyun Woo plays Jung Eun's boss who eventually falls for her simplicity while Choi Jung Yun plays a girl Kyung Min had been infatuated with but is in love with Lee Hyun Woo. The story twirls into and interesting love box of four parties. A highly recommended drama to watch!
We're using the Hepburn rules to establish the lettering, but we're also dropping the special characters like "ō" in order for the letters to be search compatible with various web search engines like Google. As of this writing, there are 143 hits for "NHK Kōhaku", while there are 17,500 hits for "NHK Kohaku". Saw your comment: "On any titles where the kana is katakana, put in "Title (language)" because all katakana should be translated to its original language/loanword." I'll try to keep this in mind from now on. However, what if the title is a combination of katakana and kanji, for example? I assume "Title (romaji)" would be used in this case but I just wanted to make sure. Analoguedragon 21:55, 30 Dec 2006 (CST)
:Even with combination of hiragana/kanji and katakana, all the words in katakana that reference loanwords should be translated, and the hiragana/kanji should be transcribed to romaji. Examples are Glass no Kamen, Tokyo Tower 2007, Mayonaka no March, etc. In this mixed instance, you should use "Title (romaji):" even though technically part of it is not romaji. Only when all of it is a collection of loanwords, then that's when you use "Title: (language):", such as Sommelier which I believe is French. In that case, it sould be "Title (French):". There are however times where katakana are not used for a loanword. Example: Himitsu no Hanazono is ヒミツの花園. Even though ヒミツ is katakana, it is actually a Japanese word and not a loanword. So it should then be "Title (romaji):"" because we'd be using romaji for the katakana. There is some knowledge of Japanese needed when converting Japanese titles to Arabic. Hope this helps! Groink 01:02, 31 Dec 2006 (CST)
::"Even with combination of hiragana/kanji and katakana, all the words in katakana that reference loanwords should be translated" - I agree with that. Sommelier might have been borrowed fron French but it is also an English word now so "Title (English):" would work just as well. I think you meant to use the original language the word is used in. Also, your explanation should be added to Japanese TV Show Article Formatting. == Mr. Duke Thread ==

"Groink (→External Links - No links to commerce sites. It places a bias towards a certain vendor; may harm D-Addicts/DramaWiki sponsors.)"

YA Entertainment is a publisher of Korean TV dramas. Sites like YesAsia and Amazon are vendors. If you allow links to MBC, SBS, and KBS, you should allow external links to the YA Entertainment pages too. There is no difference. If you need a discription of the difference, let me know. Since they are the sole publisher, I dont know what bias you are referring to. Being the sole publisher, those sponsors you refer to, can only benefit from a YA Entertainment link.

Thank you.
:Totally, totally wrong. YA Entertainment is a manufacturer of DVDs, preparing the TV dramas for sale to the West. They're NOT the creators of the dramas. If you look at the merchandise they're selling, they're all made by the TV networks you identified - MBC, SBS, KBS, etc. YA Entertainment is NOT a television network. D-Addicts has a relationship with YesAsia and Google Ads - they're the ones who are giving us funds to keep the tracker, forums and wiki alive. YA Entertainment is not giving us A SINGLE cent/won/yen/etc. by linking to their merchandise. We're very consistent with the no-commerce linking rule. We even ban linking to specific YesAsia merchandise, but host its banner for their storefront in accordance to their rules.

"They're (YAE) NOT the creators of the dramas." I never said they were, but neither are the networks. They purchase the dramas through production companies-the same as YA Entertainment. You can not purchase a dvd through YA Entertainment. Just like the TV stations, (MBC, KBS, AZN,IMAGINEASIA) they pay for the rights to do certain things to the dramas from the production companies. So resellers (yesasia)works with YAE to promote the dramas.

"We even ban linking to specific YesAsia merchandise, but host its banner for their storefront in accordance to their rules." I think if it is linking to a site where you can purchase it, then yes, you are right. But compairing an informative external link where you can not purchase a thing to wikipedia profits for link programs is a little unfair. I am not trying to be a pain, but I just dont understand how a site where you can not purchase a thing can fall under your no commerce rule? That doesnt make any sense to me.

From YAE homepage "YA Entertainment LLC, a home entertainment company, is the exclusive licensee, publisher, and distributor of popular Korean TV drama programming on DVD with English subtitles in North America."
:Forget it already. Everything you mentioned is f*cking bullshit, and you have no idea how things are run in Korea. And you just don't understand DramaWiki's stance. So it makes no sense arguing with someone who is closed minded with the operations. Regardless of what you believe, the next time you post URLs linking to a commerce site, your account will be banned from futher edits. End of argument right now. Capiche????

Related Facts
This drama was originally supposed to have actor Song Seung Hun play Gun-woo. However, a draft-dodging scandal involving Song Seung Hun broke out, causing him to enlist in the military service. On short notice, Yeon Jung Hoon was selected as Song Seung Hun's replacement to play Gun-woo. That is why the Photo Album for this drama (which is on sale at YesAsia) contains photos of Song Seung Hun instead of Yeon Jung Hoon. The storyline was also different originally. However, it was revamped days before shooting because Song Seung Hun had to leave the series.
About romanization
Could you clarify a bit the comment on this change? To the best of my knowledge no variant of Hepburn prescribe to drop the double vowel without using the macron (ou->ō). I'm ok if the wiki is going to adopt the approach you used (it's probably a de facto standard) but in the case I'm right I think it should be stated clearly that it's not standard Hepburn. --Eej 08:36, 28 Apr 2006 (EDT)
:I don't know what you mean. The use of the character "o" versus "ō" does not make it non-Hepburn. We're using the Hepburn rules to establish the lettering, but we're also dropping the special characters like "ō" in order for the letters to be search compatible with various web search engines like Google. If you do not believe me, try this exercise: Log onto Google and perform two searches: "NHK Kōhaku" and "NHK Kohaku". As of this writing, there are 143 hits for "NHK Kōhaku", while there are 17,500 hits for "NHK Kohaku". This is because characters like "ō" differ from "o" in the ASCII chart, which is what computers use in comparison or sorting routines. You also have to remember that until the early 1990's, computer keyboards could not even produce the "ō" character, which is why a great number of articles and such do not use it.
:If you're comparing DramaWiki with Wikipedia, you're completely wrong. Wikpedia is based in the ideology that it is an encyclopedia, and that ALL content must be written in an encyclopedia format - including the choice of characters in words. DramaWiki is NOT an encyclopedia - it is basically a database of information. While Wikipedia does not care about searchability, DramaWiki DOES care because it allows for people to use 3rd-party search engines to perform searches against our database, not bogging down the server. And keeping all characters within the 26-letter alphabet keeps the searches accurate, with the DramaWiki content showing up.
:One last thing... The reason we do not use "ou" in the situation of おう is that most people in the Japanese drama community leave out the "u". Again, this is to make text within DramaWiki search compatible. If someone was trying to search for "Koumyou ga Tsuji", they might not have found us. Or "Itou Misaki". You can create an Internet-wide campaign to correct this, but you're going to lose. Groink 14:56, 28 Apr 2006 (EDT)

::None of the above. I was only saying that Kohaku, in your example, is not, according to the official specifications, 'standard Hepburn'. That said, I'm perfectly fine with using Kohaku (as I wrote earlier I believe it is a de facto standard), I just think that the rules that DramaWiki has to follow should be defined and clearly stated, to avoid (or to reduce) chances of error due to misunderstendings, for the editor as for the reader. (Ex. we use Hepburn with (some) long vowels collapsed for reasons of compatibility/search and this others kind of exceptions or whatever).
::Again, I'm not contesting nor proposing any alternative. I just want to fully understand the rules I have (and want) to follow. If I gave another impression is probably because of my lack of English skills.
::And a related question. What about creating (many) pages with the different transcriptions redirecting to the 'canonical' one? Thank you for your patience. --Eej 15:38, 28 Apr 2006 (EDT)

:::I would not recommend it. If for any specific reason, it is to keep the wiki database from becoming too bloated. Currently there are 3943 valid articles on DramaWiki. There are actually 9111 articles, but almost two-thirds of that number could be re-directs to the 3943 articles. If we said it was okay to do so, we could see literally tens of thousands of redirect pages generated, which IMHO isn't something we really need here. Remember that DramaWiki is a division of D-Addicts. And the DramaWiki, D-Addicts message board, and the tracker all use the same resources. So basically we just stick with the most popular spelling of words and go with that. I also noticed someone created a redirect page for a nickname. I want to avoid creating those as well. We really don't need multiple pages for every canonical page. Groink 16:38, 28 Apr 2006 (EDT)
Synopsis
Love, although such a common emotion for everyone, is something we struggle to find in our daily lives. The characters in Did We Really Love perfectly portray this struggle to identify, define, and maintain their love through life's tough choices and consequences.

"Identifying Love" - Jae-Ho (Bae Yong Joon), a complicated character with a strong drive to succeed, gets involved in a love triangle. Virtually orphaned at nine, Jae-Ho gives up on love, and instead seeks material success by pursuing a woman who will serve as a jumping board to high society. However, he is attracted to another woman who could show him the true meaning of life. Will he choose true love? Or worldly and material success?

"Defining Love" - Suk-Koo (Park Sang Min), a self proclaimed Casanova, struggles between friendship and love. He is also plagued by many insecurities, especially since he is Jae-Ho's childhood friend. Suk-Koo falls in love with Jae-Ho's little sister, Jae-Young (Lee Na Young), and they secretly hide their relationship. Jae-Ho, a caring brother who only wants to best for his sister, forbids Suk-Koo from pursuing his little sister. Suk-Koo is faced with a tough decision between longtime loyalty and true love.

"Maintaining Love" - Byung-Kuk (Joo Hyun) and Hae-Ja (Yoon Yeo Jung) live a boring life and somewhere during their 30 years of marriage, they forget to appreciate one another. Byung-Kuk strays from his wife and connects with a woman whom he thinks understands his situation. With emotions running high, Hae-Ja discovers Byung-Kuk's infidelity with her former classmate. With so many obstacles to gain each other's trust, Hae-Ja and Byung-Kuk must decide if they want to live the rest of their lives together.
