Uchiyama Rina was first discovered in her hometown in Kanagawa prefecture by her current talent agency '''Sweet Power''' at the age of 15. Scouts for the agency had been going around Kanagawa looking for future potential talents when they heard of a "cute girl" working at a local bakery store to which young boys flocked for a glimpse of her. Promptly, the scouts arrived at Uchiyama Rina's house, asking for her snapshot. Rina had been napping at the time, and before she knew it, she had been signed by the agency and in 1998, moved to Tokyo to launch her geinoukai (Japanese entertainment) career.
First appearing in a number of commercials and short Japanese dramas, Rina got her first break in the popular drama series, ''[[Utsukushii hito|Le Bel Homme]]'', playing the role of famed Japanese actor, Tamura Masakazu's daughter. Since then, Rina has been cast in numerous Japanese dramas, often playing opposite members of Johnny's Entertainment, including [[Takizawa Hideaki]], [[Domoto Koichi]], [[Nagase Tomoya]], [[Domoto Tsuyoshi]], and [[Kimura Takuya]].

Rina recently appeared in the dramatized biography of 19th century Japanese novelist and writer ''[[Higuchi Ichiyo Monogatari]]''. Producers chose her for the role, for they believed that among all the young Japanese actresses, she looked best in the traditional kimono outfit. Her portrayal of the late female writer's tumultuous life, cut short at 24 years of age due to tuberculosis, may have won Rina her role in the third and last installment of Ooku. Ooku is the true story of 1800s imperial women and mistress' battle to win the emperor's love. Rina will once again dress in kimono robes in this popular drama series. Critics believe Rina is well suited for roles in jidaigeki (traditional Samurai-era dramas), and may bode well for her in possibly winning central roles in NHK's Taiga series; Rina has already taken part in [[Musashi]], playing the role of a woman driven by ill fortunes to prostitution and unrequited love for Takezo.

Rina has starred in several films, including ''Go-Con'' and ''Sotugyou''. In in 2005, Rina appeared in ''Shinku'', originally written by acclaimed author Nozawa Hisashi, tells of the suspense-filled story of two 19-year-old girls; one is the daughter of a family brutally murdered, and the other is the daughter of the murderer. Rina plays the victim's daughter, while the murderer's daughter is played up-and-coming young actress, [[Mizukawa Asami]]. In ''Nobuhiro-san'' (2005), Rina is cast as the heroine who is loved by a ghost.

From her early days as an idol (young TV stars who depend primarily on their cute looks), Rina has developed into a thoughtful and intriguing actress, whose career is still in the process of blossoming.

There are actually 9111 articles, but almost two-thirds of that number could be re-directs to the 3943 articles. If we said it was okay to do so, we could see literally tens of thousands of redirect pages generated, which IMHO isn't something we really need here. Remember that DramaWiki is a division of D-Addicts. And the DramaWiki, D-Addicts message board, and the tracker all use the same resources. So basically we just stick with the most popular spelling of words and go with that. I also noticed someone created a redirect page for a nickname. I want to avoid creating those as well. Regarding the romanization of 料理 as "ryuri," I definitely have to say that's new to me. Is there a specific guide you're using for romanization? I thought we were roughly following Hepburn (without macrons), in which case it should be romanized as "ryori," right? I didn't understand the comment you made about the ょ becoming just 'y' - that doesn't happen with other words. For example: 東京, 今日, 行列 (as in 行列のできる法律相談所)... Only when all of it is a collection of loanwords, then that's when you use "Title: (language):", such as [[Sommelier]] which I believe is French. In that case, it sould be "Title (French):". There are however times where katakana are not used for a loanword. Example: [[Himitsu no Hanazono]] is ヒミツの花園. Even though ヒミツ is katakana, it is actually a Japanese word and not a loanword. I notice that a lot of the dramas articles in Autumn 2006 have ratings tables split up into three categories: Kanto, Kansai, and Nationwide. For example, when I click the [[Nodame Cantabile]] article and look at the bottom of the page, there is a episode ratings table. :There were two things I was hoping would happen: 1) People start realizing that the numbers floating around are specific to a particular marketing area within Japan and start paying attention to that fact, and 2) Editors would start finding the numbers for Kanto, Kansai and nationwide. The numbers are out there - the editors just need to spend the due diligence finding the data. The challenge is that the Kanto numbers come out first, followed by the other regions WEEKS later. But by the time those other region numbers are released, the editors have already gone onto other editing tasks. I still don't understand why VR does this... In the US, the Neilson numbers are always nationwide. But that's just the way Japan is, I guess.
:As for the dramas prior to Autumn 2006, it would be nice to update them as well. But like I mentioned to another editor, there are many other tasks that have higher priority, such as finding and filling in the missing kana names, building new articles, fixing wikilinks and adding missing wikilinks, re-organizing the hundreds of articles from THE JDORAMA.COM DUMP of 2005, etc. The problem in fixing the older articles is that 1) you must validate the numbers and make sure they actually came from VR, and 2) you're not even sure exactly what those numbers represent (Kanto? :Unfortunately, no. Ruroshin did the HUGE mistake of placing DramaWiki under the Attribution-ShareAlike license, which indicates that the works of DramaWiki can be copied just as long as 1) the content is not altered and 2) DramaWiki is given credit.

The Better Business Bureau shows that YA Entertainment is a DBA for YesAsia, Inc. She works as a media contact for YA Entertainment (YA, get it????), and is using Wikipedia to achieve this. But look at the images she's uploading, they're getting tagged left and right, which I find very funny. Sure you "say" you obtained permission from the copyright owner, YA Entertainment. But how are you going to prove it? This is why Wikipedia, under their rules, does not allow 1st-person information (people who work for the company, for example) to contribute information about its company and products to Wikipedia. I thought we were roughly following Hepburn (without macrons), in which case it should be romanized as "ryori," right? :Even with combination of hiragana/kanji and katakana, all the words in katakana that reference loanwords should be translated, and the hiragana/kanji should be transcribed to romaji. Examples are [[Glass no Kamen]], [[Tokyo Tower 2007]], [[Mayonaka no March]], etc. In this mixed instance, you should use "Title (romaji):" even though technically part of it is not romaji. Only when all of it is a collection of loanwords, then that's when you use "Title: (language):", such as [[Sommelier]] which I believe is French. In that case, it sould be "Title (French):". There are however times where katakana are not used for a loanword. Example: [[Himitsu no Hanazono]] is ヒミツの花園. Even though ヒミツ is katakana, it is actually a Japanese word and not a loanword. So it should then be "Title (romaji):"" because we'd be using romaji for the katakana. There is some knowledge of Japanese needed when converting Japanese titles to Arabic. Hope this helps! I notice that a lot of the dramas articles in Autumn 2006 have ratings tables split up into three categories: Kanto, Kansai, and Nationwide. For example, when I click the [[Nodame Cantabile]] article and look at the bottom of the page, there is a episode ratings table. :There were two things I was hoping would happen: 1) People start realizing that the numbers floating around are specific to a particular marketing area within Japan and start paying attention to that fact, and 2) Editors would start finding the numbers for Kanto, Kansai and nationwide. The numbers are out there - the editors just need to spend the due diligence finding the data. The challenge is that the Kanto numbers come out first, followed by the other regions WEEKS later. But by the time those other region numbers are released, the editors have already gone onto other editing tasks. I still don't understand why VR does this... In the US, the Neilson numbers are always nationwide. But that's just the way Japan is, I guess.
:As for the dramas prior to Autumn 2006, it would be nice to update them as well. But like I mentioned to another editor, there are many other tasks that have higher priority, such as finding and filling in the missing kana names, building new articles, fixing wikilinks and adding missing wikilinks, re-organizing the hundreds of articles from THE JDORAMA.COM DUMP of 2005, etc. The problem in fixing the older articles is that 1) you must validate the numbers and make sure they actually came from VR, and 2) you're not even sure exactly what those numbers represent (Kanto?
