== Broken characters ==
It sounds strange, I noticed that some CJK characters are broken in many pages. I tried to correct, e.g., the page of [[Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu]] but two days later I found that those characters are broken again (the history does show that I am the last modifier). Although this wiki is designed for english speakers, I think it should keep names of titles/artists correct in their mother languages. :To answer Panasonic's question... We've settled on the idea that the kana names should be kept only in their primary articles, and to leave them out of any other articles linking to the primary. Trying to provide both the romaji and kana in EVERY SINGLE ARTICLE adds bulk to the database, and overall it is just redundant information that can otherwise be found in their primary articles. Also given the fact that every Japanese speaking person can read romaji. AND, the Japanese has their own drama wiki database at ja.wikipedia.org. There's something about Piano that sets it apart from other Korean melodramas. If I had to describe in short, I would probably call it a drama about tormented souls who can't find happiness, because they don't learn to let go of things and to love one another until it's too late. It was my first time seeing [[Go Su]] on screen, and besides [[Jo Jae Hyun]] (the older one), [[Go Su]] gave a impressionable portrayal of Han Jae su. He was perfect gentlemen, the sacrificial, understanding and forgiving son, brother, friend, lover, etc. (The actor who played young Jae-su was also commendable.) Unfortunately, I haven't heard or seen much of him since Piano. Jo In sung's performance was no where as good, and yet he's much more successful now.

Although I usually see the promotion leaning towards the younger generation of casts, i.e. [[Go Su]], [[Kim Ha Neul]], and [[Jo In sung]], the story is one told of two distinct time frames and settings, one with [[Jo Jae Hyun]] & Shin Hae rim (the parent generation) leading, the other with the children.

I heard [[Jo Jae Hyun]] grabbed best actor that year and rightfully deserved. First, his character, Han Uk gwan is scorned upon as a pathetic "gangster"--if you can even call him a man, then he was a man with no pride or shame, a father that attempted to desert his own son numerous times. But his encounter with [[Jo Min Su]] entirely turned his life around. This is one of the most significant and beautifully-shot scenes in the drama--when he sets eyes on her and falls in love at first sight.

However, although marriage usually symbolizes happiness and warmth, as soon as the bonding between these two lovers are made, the suffering of the step-children begins. Lee Soo ah ([[Kim Ha Neul]]) & Lee Kyong ho ([[Jo In sung]]) could not accept their second father, not mentioning one fares pale in comparison to their late respected father. Complicating the process, Jae su ([[Go Su]]) & Soo ah experiences somewhat of a love dilemma as they've build feelings for one another and now carry the titles of siblings.

A twist of fate strengthens Soo ah & Kyong ho's resentment towards their stepfather, despite him relentlessly trying to win them over.

The theme song was excellent, and went along with the opening theme very well (despite not understand a word, it was emotionally provokative, and I didn't fastforward any of it!) and the version I had also alternated the Korean version with a Mandarin redition by Fan Yi Chen, which was equally good.

The story is slow-moving with a lot of teary scenes. The dialogue is limited, but the strength of it is in the cast and touching storyline. The central theme revolves around family. The characters in Piano may appear weak as they end up suffering because of their lack of courage to stand up to do what they want, yet you feel their burdens and torment.

One of the most memorable scenes is when Soo ah takes a broken piece of glass up to her wrists to threaten Jae su to stay away from her when he tries to confess his love and force her to do the same. Soo ah is the character that appears to be strong on the outside, but fragile within. She appears cold as ice in front of other people, but is the one who breaks down the most, full of self-doubt and conflicting feelings.

This is a quality drama, which I think is rare, but may require the right mood to appreciate the overall depressing atmosphere throughout the entire drama. Sorry if relationships were cluttered, just writing as it comes to me, hope it makes sense.

==Synopsis==
As a young "orphan", [[Jo Hyun Jae]] received horrible treatment while growing up under his aunt (father's sister). When his uncle (mother's brother) comes back from Italy, his uncle takes him from his unhappy life. Growing up under a priest uncle in a cathedral, [[Jo Hyun Jae]] secretly wishes of being a priest. Years later, [[Soo Aeh]] comes to live in the cathedral orphanage. Although at first [[Soo Aeh]] refused to beome friends with him, the two become the best of friends throughout their high school years. In college, they move out of the cathedral into a small home in the ciy, where they help eachother out. Although [[Soo Aeh]] loves Jo, she hides her feeings from Jo because he wants to become a priest. In the midst, Jo gets to know [[Ji Jin Hee]], a rebellious guy who fell for [[Soo Aeh]] long ago. As Ji tries really hard to fit into Jo and Soo Aeh's close relationship, feelings become revealed. Through this all, Jo encounters an emotional dilemma between his dream and his feelings of love.

Think love letter, and what comes to mind? Perhaps days of youth when girls & guys are too shy to confess their feelings to one another. That describes the appeal of Love Letter, a drama about the purest kind of love. The central plot is framed within a children's story about a boy who was saved when God sent a rope down from the sky. Lee Woo jin (Andrew) is an orphan left to the care of his aunt and uncle, who are in a poor situation themselves and sees Woo jin as a burden upon them. Futhermore, his aunt hates Woo jin's mother, because she felt that his brother, Woo jin's father died because of her. Woo jin is neglected and abused, but he hangs on to the belief that God will save him someday just like in the story.

That day comes when his other uncle (mother's brother), Father Peter (a priest) takes Woo jin with him to live in the orphanage he runs. To a child who has only heard of curses towards his mother, Woo jin breaks downs and cries happily when the Father Peter tells Woo jin his mother was a good person.

During his high school days, Cho Eun ha entered Andrew's life, recently orphaned herself, Eun ha is embittered by her fate. She doesn't feel as if she could trust anybody else again... when they may just eventually leave and hurt her. Andrew feels connected to Eun ha and tries to befriend her--initially he is met is cold reception as he could not possibly understand how she feels. When Eun ha finds out about Andrew's past, she gives in and finds consolation within one another, becoming the best of friends. Eun ha falls in love with Andrew and writes him a love letter, but right before giving it to him, Andrew tells Eun ha, he's going to follow his dream to be a priest... so he can spread his love to other people.

Eun ha can only wish to be with Andrew for as long as possible and as they head off into college, Jung Woo jin steps into their relationship. Andrew hits it off immediately with Jung Woo jin, causing Eun ha to be jealous, but Jung's is actually taken by Eun ha. Jung had fallen in love with Eun ha at first sight years ago, and it was that one encounter which stopped him from commiting suicide during his troubled teenage years...

This was somewhat of a low-profile drama when it aired, and its mediocre ratings didn't make it a hit, even though the story was written by the same writer as Autumn's Tale. If you compare the two, you'll definitely notice similiarities in the picturesque ways of capturing the romantic scenes, some definitely parallelism between Ji Jin hee's Jun Woo jin & Won Bin's Han Tae-suhk passionate characters, but Love Letter's character's have much more depth to them. Most obviously Lee Woo jin/Andrew, whose kind and giving heart of gold turns into a frozen heart full of resentment.

After leaving the sheltered life at the orphage, his weak protective shell is attacked by romantic love and resentment, even hatred. Andrew ultimately chooses Eun ha, leaving her a love letter telling her this, but due to intervention by Jung Woo jin, Andrew thought Eun ha had given up on him, tries to continue his priesthood in Italy, but comes back a battered soul. He has chosen to become a priest, but carries a strange illness which makes him unable to feel, a heart unable to feel pain, joy or tears. This illness came as built-up of resentment towards his mother who adandoned him once in the past and now again, resentment after thinking Eun ha had betrayed him, hatred towards those who has wronged him. All this makes him question why he chose the "path to love."

First-time leading actor, Jo Hyun Jae carries an impressive performance as Andrew, not entirely unflawed, he was convincing portrayed poor Andrew. It is instilled in my mind the faint disdain on Andrew's face when he told Eun ha not to talk bad things behind Jung Woo jin's back, because Jung was his friend; how innocently he said to always think of the good side of things; his contagious smile when he said an adult can overcome any obstacle; his tear-stained face & blood-shot eyes when Andrew learned of his mother's existence, his chilling coldness towards his mother when she asked him to forgive her when he said I'll give it to you if that's what you want. That's why I became a priest, in order to forgive you, mother. The power of his explosive anger when Andrew told his mother to leave him a peace and leave him alone.

In one interview Jo Hyun Jae mentioned he found strength in co-star Soo Ae's husky voice and this characteristic that helps strength her role in Love Letter. Eun ha is the strongest character in Love Letter, despite contrasting with Andrew's identity crises and what not, Eun ha harmonizes her partner; it almost seems as if she battles everything out by herself and this is Soo Ae's charm. She played it to perfection. (Wish I can write more, but nothing's coming to me now...)

The pace and development was very well done from beginning to end which I can't say the same for all Korean dramas. That framework I was talking about ended the story which creates this roundabout closing, except many viewers including myself was confused about the open ending. Even if you're not a fan of romance, don't turn away from it because of the title, it may be about love, but more of a examination of spiritual/Platonic love

This was called by many the best Kdrama of 2002, and with good reason. Not a big hit when it was originally broadcast, it slowly built up a huge and loyal fanbase. All of the actors put in impressive, touching performances. Couple that with some of the best (and most believable) writing, this drama stands alone for its simple, unpretentious storytelling.

The basic plot seems to be pretty typical Kdrama stuff: Bad guy does bad things. Gets fatal illness. Falls in love with someone who isn't "suited" to him. Love triangle between her and the old girlfriend, blah, blah, blah. But what makes this drama unique is the almost total absence of the usual high-tension, dramatic plot twists every episode or two. It is not a story about the disease at all, but about the development of the characters and how they deal with the massive changes in their lives as a result of it.

[[Yang Dong Geun]] plays the role of Boksu in a way that conveys his almost childlike innocence and wonder, as if really seeing the world for the first time in his 26 years. Seeing him try so hard to make everything right, have a life, love, and do the least harm to others as he can, you really feel for the guy.

[[Lee Na Young]] is a refreshing change from the typical gorgeous, but kind of plastic leading ladies usually found in these series. She's quiet, a bit moody, hard to get close to, and dresses like a tomboy with her Converse All-Star sneakers. When she hooks up with Boksu and the walls start coming down, she discovers a level of self-acceptance and strength that is beautiful to behold. I totally fell in love with her in this series!

[[Gong Hyo-Jin]] has long been one of my favorite actresses. Far removed from her teary, tough-but-sappy performance in Sang-Doo, she's incredible as Mi-Rae. The tough, bitchy chick with attitude is also hard-working, driven, and totally faithful to the man she loves. Seeing her react when her love is obviously falling for another girl, I have the utmost respect for her character.

Everyone else is just as impressive in their back-up roles. I'll admit, this is not in my mind one of those "I'll chew through walls if I can't see the next ep NOW!!!" type dramas. In fact, I ended up watching 2 or 3 others in their entirety while watching this one. The reason for that is that the progression of the characters is just so natural. None of the usual plot devices to drag you in and rip out your heart. I did, however find my thoughts returning to this drama a lot more frequently than the others. It's kind of like when you pretty much know what-all's going to happen, so there's no urgency to get to the end. The show never seemed to drag in the second half like so many others, though. And this is one of the rare dramas that ends exactly as it should. It was a bit surprising to me, but the ending was just perfect.

Whereas a lot of the shows I've been watching have been like a nice quick meal at McDonald's when you're starving -- instantly satisfying, but you know you've had the same thing 100 times before, this drama was like a nice, relaxing 7 course meal with a brandy snifter and a pipe after. It doesn't pull you off your seat every 5 seconds, but it digests nice and slow, and gives you a long, mellow, satisfied feeling that stays with you for a while.

''Beautiful Days (Ah Reum Dah Woon Nal Deul)'' uses some of Korea's well known actors to deliver a story of two orphan girls, two step-brothers and their entangled tale of greed, secrets and disloyalty. The story gives the main characters a chance to gain wisdom through life experiences. Both the story and the actors execute a great melodrama. 

The story is dynamic and realistically written. Showing the source of each main character's notable traits from painful experiences, the story starts in 1975, then forwards to 1985 and 1995, and finally picks up 5 years later in 2000 where most of the story takes place. Within the first two decades shown, the audience learns why Min-chul is unloving to most people, why his younger sister, Minji, is rebellious, and why Sun-jae is so obedient to their father. In 1995, the audience learns why there is heartache between Sina and Yonsoo. Even while the story falls short to offer definite conclusions to sub plots, it does offer closure by establishing the main characters' evolution or growth. Just as the audience is shown the source of the characters' troubles and pains, the drama continues to unravel situations that force the characters to change. The realism and complexity of the characters starts with the story; however, the cast does an excellent job of bringing them to the screen. 

The cast works great together. First, [[Lee Byung Hun]] shows Min-chul as the resentful, cold-shouldered son to his father, brother and step-mother. While to Minji he shows Min-chul as the caring, trusting brother. Both are attractive personalities that together make up a complex character. When he and [[Choi Ji Woo]] are in a scene together, [[Lee Byung Hun]] is strikingly bold and demanding, sometimes not saying much at all. In fact, some of the drama's best scenes are ones in which [[Lee Byung Hun]] doesn't have many lines in but requires just as much performance. For example, when he and [[Choi Ji Woo]] are in the movie theater, not a single word is said, but the heartache and pain Min-chul feels is shown in his expressions. As for [[Choi Ji Woo]], she begins portraying Yonsoo as a strong woman that is cautious of Min-chul. Her stuggle to trust herself plays out well. Next, [[Ryu Shi Won]] is noble as the intimidated brother and offers a certain amount of gentleness to the Lee family. Finally, [[Lee Jung Hyun]] and [[Shin Min Ah]] both represent the younger disobedient sister well, making the outrageous squabbling scenes convincing. 

The story and cast of ''Beautiful Days'' illustrate characters' trials and growth skillfully. The complex beginning establishes a great source for the drama's development while the well rounded characters are carefully crafted and displayed. The two elements, story and cast, brings one of the better performed Korean dramas to audiences. 

As for the music of ''Beautiful Days'' with Korean Pop Star, [[Lee Jung Hyun]], as part of the cast as well as a story that revolves around music industry characters, the drama has amazing power ballads and lovely musical scores. The actual Korean musician Zero is also featured on the OST, bringing a soothing voice to climatic ballads, like Yak Sok (track 2), that makes the heart soar.

[[Jang Nara]] plays a cute and innocent suburban girl who often daydreams of rescuing her prince. One day, she meets [[Jang Hyuk]] who accidentally falls into her bath tub while she was taking her bath. Not off to a good start they started arguing over the matter. However, the story goes on to tell how [[Jang Nara]] arrives in the big city due to her plan to settle her irresponsible parents' debts. She moves into [[Jang Hyuk]]'s house as a hired servant hence begins to teach the rich spoilt brat ([[Jang Hyuk]]) some manners through her down to earth scoldings and no-nonsense attitude. This drama gets totally hilarious in many scenes where [[Jang Nara]] and [[Jang Hyuk]]'s combination comes out as refreshingly cute. [[Jang Hyuk]] plays a rich and proud man who inherits his father's business but is later betrayed by his own cousin and uncle leading to his downfall. On the other hand, [[Jang Nara]] plays a girl that he meets who help him pick up the pieces in his life, from defeat to success. A very well written drama with a story many will enjoy!

Incorporating a plot fueled by greed and deception with the actors' ability to perform with great animation, the series accomplishes a suitable balance between drama and comedy. Also, with enjoyable characters, viewers are inspired by one of the drama's themes; righteousness and determination are rewarded. ''Successful Story of a Bright Girl'' is full of laughs and tears and is enjoyable from beginning to end. 

First, the balance of drama and comedy creates a lighthearted series. Both Yang Soon ([[Jang Nara]]) and Gi Tae ([[Jang Hyuk]]) experience loss in death and worldly possessions. Conspiracies and alliances are established to cause their fall and distract them from their paths to success. Still, sprinkled though out the drama are scenes of their strong personalities bickering. These scenes are heightened with [[Jang Nara's]] and [[Jang Hyuk's]] lively performances making for fun, comical moments and creating a steadiness between the somber scenes. 

Also, this drama shares inspiration through a clear-cut theme and its characters that viewers can relate. Simply stated, success will come to those that are honorable and that never give up, "Fighting!? Fans cheer on Yang Soon because her confidence and perseverance launches her as a delightful heroine. Gi Tae is a round character thanks to his guardian angel, Yang Soon, and her example on living life. His character changes from an arrogant, unfocussed jerk to a more humbled, solidified business man that sets his heart to take back what he lost. Will Yang Soon repay her parents' debts and save her Prince Charming? Will Gi Tae regain losses? What success awaits these characters in both love and war? 

With a dynamic cast and characters involved in a balanced plot that revolves around an inspiring theme, ''Successful Story of a Bright Girl'' brings a refreshing series to Korean drama fans. Jang Na Ra's and Jung Hyuk's feisty mannerisms bring life to their squabbling characters providing fun and laughs for viewers. Fans are able to attach themselves to the characters and theme even with the series melodrama aspects. All in all, ''Successful Story of a Bright Girl'' is a sure hit. 

Similar to the drama, the soundtrack is balanced with fun beats and dramatic scores; however, only a few are worth mentioning. Jang Hyuk's Love Song (Track 1) delivers a enjoyable tune with sweet lyrics. "I again protect your smile while I'm not realizing it.
Is it because the sorrow behind your smiles are similar to mine? Come to me. Love song, love song, love song to you who made me change,? he sings in Korean. Other fun beats on the sound track are tracks 8, Success Story of a Bright Girl; 12, Waltz; and 13, Run, Run, Run. The softer, soothing tracks are songs such as track 2, Waiting for a Reason and track 4, True Bird's It's You. Disappointedly, Korean Pop Star [[Jang Nara]] does not contribute a song to this soundtrack. Perhaps if she had a few tracks on the it, the OST would be better.

Adorable and sweet, ''Full House'' is full of great acting and enjoyable characters and brings to life a wonderful story of endearing relationships which compensate its replica episodes. Most notable is the gorgeous [[Song Hye Kyo]] and her unwavering performance as the charismatic Han Ji-eun. Also, the story provides surprisingly likeable characters with each having a crafted purpose to contribute to building the plot. Although the latter episodes begin to tie down the drama with repeated cause-and-affect situations, fans of [[Song Hye Kyo]] will not be disappointed with her presentation in ''Full House''. 

Adding a fresh character to her works, [[Song Hye Kyo]] takes front-and-center stage with her performance as Han Ji-eun. Effortlessly, she is able to put aside her renowned performances of old with an adorable giggle and a vibrant smile that even shines through her eyes. She brings realism to the character showing Ji-eun's aspiration and determination, her laughter and happiness, her foolishness and regret. Undoubtedly, [[Song Hye Kyo]] plays this role naturally opposite attractive [[Bi]] or Jung Ji-hoon and his fitting performance as Lee Young-jae. Of course, both stars are fortunate to play a part in a drama with well written characters. 

The drama is flavored with different types of likeable characters that similarly push the story forward with their foolish actions. First, Ji-eun and Young-jae thoughtlessly enter into a contract marriage even though they obviously loathe each other. Meanwhile, sly-fox Hye-won desperately tries to sustain Young-jae's companionship despite his marriage. Then, deciding to get involved because of the way Young-jae treats his wife, Min-hyuk knowingly risks their friendships and challenges Young-jae's love for Ji-eun. Finally, the top tier of this foolish cake is the surprisingly enjoyable friends of Ji-eun, Dong-wook and Hee-jin. These two continuously give the plot momentum with their hasty chatter and clever lies. All in all, the characters' irrational personalities are balanced with decency and purpose. 

Towards the end, the drama slow downs and the foolish love-war relationship between Ji-eun and Young-jae is redundant. Whether she is apologizing for upsetting him and doing the housework to makeup for her actions or he is, the same set up and execution is used for several episodes and begins to get old. 

Still, ''Full House'' ranks as a must see drama. [[Song Hye Kyo]] is a sure hit while the story's characters are easily revered despite their faults. With a little tolerance for excessiveness, viewers can walk away from ''Full House'' with hearts full of contentment.

The music of ''Full House'' enhances the audience's love for its characters. Songs like Why's Un Myung (track one), Byung's I think I (track 4), and even Lee Jung Hee's Geh Deh Ji Geum (not featured on OST) beautifully express Young-jae's and Ji-eun's inner struggles. Sung with strong conviction from Young-jae's position, Un Myung has tender lyrics, "Like a fool, I'm regretting this late…I wished that it wouldn't be you.? (KBFD translations) On the other hand, Geh Deh Ji Geum and I think I, speaks of the Ji-eun's overwhelming feelings. It is lovely music for a lovely drama.
