The exceptionally gifted Ghost King, He Simu, unexpectedly encounters the young general, Duan Xu, while out on a break, searching for food. ==Synopsis==
The rich but naive Fan Sha'er is buried alive by his own father for raiding a grain depot. After escaping, he meets Xiu Gu and her father, who run a hotpot restaurant. Persecuted by Master Huo and guided by the mystic Xuanjizi, he accidentally joins a bandit gang. Rising to become its leader, he forms a sworn brotherhood to uphold justice. After killing Japanese invaders, his group is integrated into the formal army. Kor Wiki is NEVER a must insert for K Dramas pages in Dramawiki. As long as there are other more verifiable and useful external links. There is no important things in K Wiki that haven't been provided in Official site, KBS World/MBC Global site, or Daum/Naver. In fact, it's advisable we don't follow blindly the informations in K Wiki, because Wikipedia articles are freely edited by everyone, so mistakes are often happen, esp. Korean Wiki because Wikipedia Kor is still not bound by the obligation to put references, unlike Wiki English & Japan, for example.

:No source (even the official site) is thoroughly complete or free of possible errors, so it's always prudent to check with multiple sources. That's why I am of the opinion that, within reason, you cannot have too many links, even if they may have overlapping information. I wouldn't even remove a Korean Wikipedia link, even if there is a link to an English Wikipedia page - the English pages are seldom as thorough as their Korean counterparts and they usually lack the actor/actress interlinks. When you are trying to distinguish between actors with the same names, those interlinks are very helpful (ie. Is it Kim Soo Hyun (1978) or Kim Soo Hyun (1988)?).

:Yeah, I've had my issues with some of Mehyarb119's edits as well. I haven't seen anything about the number of episodes for [[The King Loves]] either, but 40 is a pretty unusual number; I rather doubt she just made it up. One thing she has done repeatedly is to enter incorrect Hangul titles for newly announced upcoming shows on the [[Upcoming KDrama]] list. It seems to me like she reads about a new drama on some site like Dramabeans or Soompi, adds English title to the Upcoming KDrama list and then back-translates the English title into Korean; they are nearly always wrong. And of course, I also wish she would learn to use the Edit 'Show Preview' button. LOL. :Well I can't say that I agree with this at all, but it's your site.

:I have no beef with having people add reviews, but for the more popular dramas we could easily end up with multiple reviews, which would make the main pages horrendously long and ungainly. One of DramaWiki's most attractive features is it's clean, concise layout of detailed and strictly factual info, relatively free of fancruft. Cluttering up the main show pages with Reviews would run quite counter to that basic principle.

:We routinely off-load supplemental info to subpages for things like [[:Category:KOST|OSTs]], [[:Category:Ratings|TV Ratings]], [[:Category:KCast|Extended Cast]], [[:Category:Plot|Plot Synopsis]], etc... so it seemed quite reasonable to do likewise with Reviews. In fact when I had the thought of doing so, I went to create [[:Category:Reviews]], only to discover it already existed - I'm clearly not the first to come up with this idea. In addition, Reviews can often contain spoilers, which many users might not want to see inadvertently. Having them on a subpage would avoid this hazard.

:[[Six Flying Dragons]] is a good example of a page with multiple subpages. It's clean and neat, but loaded with info and links to far more for anyone who is interested.

:When it comes to info on upcoming dramas, I'm suspicious of all but official network press releases. Much of the info for upcoming dramas on other sites like HanCinema, AsianWiki, MyDramaList, or Wikipedia are often just guesses (or just copied from a previous show page).

:The current show in that time slot [[Do You Like Brahms?]] airs at 22:00 (HanCinema lists it as 22:20 - it could just be a typo). I would assume the time to stay the same unless I see something official that says otherwise. The official SBS [https://www.facebook.com/sbsnow/photos/a.174068072604880/3614200958591557 promo] for Penthouse just released today gives no air time yet.

:20 episodes is not a typical number of episodes for prime time dramas these days (it used to be years ago). 16 is more usual these days. Again, nothing official yet.

:HanCinema's Oct. 23 premiere date for Penthouse is certainly wrong (that's a Friday, not a Monday). They often are just guessing that the new show will premiere as soon as the current show ends. That would put it at Oct. 26. Sometimes it ends up being correct, but other times not. Shows can get preempted for breaking news or for holidays (like Chuseok), which could delay the premiere date.

I registered with DramaWiki a couple of days ago in order to create an Airtime page for JTBC. Then I thought maybe there was a good reason it didn't have one, so I registered with the D-Addicts forums to post a question. The only reply so far was that I should talk with you.

It looks like JTBC schedules change more often than those in the existing Airtime pages, but otherwise, I dunno. It would be more convenient for me, in activities outside DramaWiki, if a JTBC Airtime page existed.

Separately, now that I'm registered, I should be doing things like working on stubs and dead ends and so forth. But as I said in my initial forum post, I don't know Korean (though I can parse Hangul), and don't really keep up on new dramas. If anything, I'd be more likely to want to cover the 1980s and 1990s better, and even move back to the 1970s and 1960s, but that would rely on libraries re-opening where I live that are still closed, so not for months. I'm good at things like spreadsheets and copy editing, not so good at working with others.

Let's assume I can offer five hours per week to DramaWiki (not including that JTBC page). Maybe it'll be ten some weeks, one others; I'm not sure. For the medium term, let's assume I'll do what you think best. What is that work?

:The only reason there isn't an Airtime page for JTBC is that no one has been ambitious enough to create one yet. ::Pre-1990 dramas are mostly documented by newspaper TV listings to which I'll have access if the library ever opens back up. Korea Times 1962 to 1997; 조선 일보 1961-1990; 동아 일보 1961-2008 or anyway whenever it stopped carrying TV listings; and a third one I used, whose title I forget, that had occasional TV listings for HLKZ, though not for AFKN, and to which I had access from before 1956 to late 1960s. I saw checking that library's catalogue just now that I ignored some papers, which I'll check if/when I can. But those three Korean papers' listings used steadily decreasing amounts of Hanja through the 1960s; the HLKZ listings in the 1950s were mostly in Hanja, which means I can't read 'em. Also, TV listings for morning programming seem not to have existed in the 1960s (which is as far as I got, cataloguing dramas). And I found one show whose Korean title I couldn't get because those Korean newspapers all just called that timeslot "Sunday Drama". Finally, TV listings represent what the newspapers understood the networks to have told them, not what the networks actually aired.

:::Turns out I do still have a list of the newspapers, and the third Korean one was 서울 신문, 1956-1969.

::Regardless, all this produces is extensions to the network Airtime pages (or alternatively, supplementary Airtime pages for completists only, to which could be added the redlinked dramas from the existing Airtime pages). Actual show pages are more complicated. I was looking for dramas that seemed likely to be speculative (fantasy, horror, etc.), and none of the 1960s shows I picked got meaningful results in Google searches. I think the main way actual show pages are likely to be built is by going through older cast and crew members' pages. But I also think 1970s and especially 1980s dramas are likely to be better documented online; in particular, sometime in the 1980s Daum kicks in, assuming y'all consider that a trustworthy source. Also, the newspapers themselves will probably have more TV coverage the further forward I get, though I'm unlikely to be able to do much with articles in Korean. Anyway, though, that's ambitious, and we'll see whether I can re-do the 1960s and go on, or not.

For instance, the various Airtime lists are all tagged with <Nowiki>[[Category:Airtime]]</nowiki>, KDramas are <NoWiki>[[Category:KDrama]]</nowiki>, Korean actors <NoWiki>[[Category:KActor]]</nowiki>, etc. There are categories for all types of pages, years, networks, genres, production companies, etc. A complete list of all the existing categories can be found at [[Special:Categories|Categories]].

== CGV movie series from 2007, Eighteen - why no page? ==

Hi

I re-watched tonight the only episode of this four-episode movie series that I'd watched before, 소녀X소녀. [1] That's also the only one English Wikipedia records a South Korean theatrical opening of, 43 days before CGV cablecast it. If Wikipedia's pretensions can be relied upon, the other three never appeared in South Korean theatres, although one did get to New York two years later.

DramaFever carried them, and unlike movies, all of which at that time DramaFever paywalled, it allowed free access to the first two; that's where I first watched 소녀X소녀. Also, these movies got significantly less theatrical or DVD release than the Telecinema movies did, and DramaWiki does have a page for those. So I think it should have a page for these too, and am volunteering to build one, based, for the three I haven't watched and currently can't [2], mainly on the Daum pages. (And modeled on the Telecinema page.) One was directed by a woman; one is clearly a relatively early example of male homosexuality on Korean TV; they deserve to be better known.

But first I wanted to find out whether this was all argued out years ago, and there's some good reason the page doesn't exist.

That said, you are quite right to point out that there is plenty of other very similar content (like the Telecinema series) that has been included in DramaWiki. In recent years with the proliferation of made-for-TV and streaming channel short dramas, specials, and movies, the lines of distinction between movies and dramas has gotten very blurry indeed. It seems more semantics than anything clearly defined in many cases. ::PS DramaFever is now "excluded" from the Internet Archive, so I couldn't find out what English titles they used. For three of the episodes I just used the usual title, but for episode 3, the one with an OST, I didn't find a single filmography in English that named it, so again, I used Google Translate, but this time I'm sort of confident in the result. Turns out "Go to School, I'll See You" is a *different* Korean movie from that time; I got "I'll Go to School".

:::In lieu of official English titles, we do the best we can. I'm hardly fluent, but I know a bit of Korean. For Episode 3, I would translate 학교 다녀오겠습니다 to "I'm Going to School." The verb is present tense, assertive. There was actually a 2014 reality show of the same name called "Off to School" in English.

:::As for the song titles, 견적 좀 내주세요 would be something like "Give Me an Estimate" (or Quote) or "Please Give Me an Estimate". The honorific form is an implied "please", though it is often left off in translations. 그 사람 때문이죠 would be "Because of Him". Hello again

I've recently been re-watching a lot of dramas primarily because I wanted to verify things about their music. I today added a couple of insert songs to the [[What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? OST]] page, and that got me thinking about the last long drama I re-watched before it, which has an OST of just one song, and in which I found 39 insert songs, plus two quoted only instrumentally. I've identified more than half of these: in English - 15 of 20; in Korean - 9 of 14, including one traditional song identified by title but not by performer, and one song quoted instrumentally only; in French - 0 of 3; in Italian - 0 of 1; in a Slavic language, very probably Russian - 0 of 1; in a Romance language, quite possibly Spanish - 0 of 1; without vocals - 1 of 1.

So here's the thing. This drama is available three places online, but only has subtitles at Viki. At YouTube and OnDemandKorea, these songs are present everywhere I looked. At Viki, many of them - for all I know, most of them - aren't. Viki also eliminated at least two pieces of background music with vocals but not lyrics.

So if I put the identifications into the OST page for this drama, I'm worried that I'd be creating a financial risk for the owners of the drama, because they may have used some of these songs without permission. Which raises the ethical question: Do my obligations for the drama outweigh my obligations for the music?

:I don't think there should be any issue with listing insert songs from dramas on DramaWiki. If the songs were used in the show when it aired, that's simply factual information. There is no way for us to know whether the producers sought or received permission to use the songs. That's kinda their problem. Licenses for use of copyrighted material are often country or region-specific. If songs have been later removed for international streaming on sites like Viki, that may indicate they didn't have permission. Or it may just mean that the permission they received was limited to South Korea. I'm now re-watching the fourth-last drama [1] in my re-watching for music project, episode 2 this morning. [[Surplus Princess]] uses at least one song by David Choi ("Don't Fade Away", both episodes). Turns out he's been on [https://www.melon.com/artist/album.htm?artistId=330771#params%5BlistType%5D=3&params%5BorderBy%5D=ISSUE_DATE&params%5BartistId%5D=330771&po=pageObj&startIndex=1 several formal OSTs]. It also uses in episode 2 two songs involving three Japanese EDM artists ("The Time Is Now" by Capsule and "Fly Away Now" by Ryunosuke Kudo and aran), for none of whom DramaWiki seems to have an article. But as best I can tell, none has been on formal drama OSTs.

(A Vietnamese blogger has already catalogued Surplus Princess's insert songs, using Shazam. That person's list, um, overlaps with the one I'm making, but the overlap isn't all that big so far.)

So two specific questions:

1) Are Singer pages for singers only, or can other kinds of musicians, like those EDM guys, get them too?

2) Is there a criterion for who gets Singer pages and who doesn't? Number of OSTs? Idol status?

And a general question: What advice do you, or DramaWiki in general, have for me on choosing musicians to create pages for, and how to go about creating them?

[1] The last drama under my current plans is [[The Lover]], Mnet, primarily for the purpose of cataloguing its insert songs better than the last time I re-watched it. That drama currently has no OST page. Hmm. The drama before that is, um, [[The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince]]... The music of both is, of course, documented widely elsewhere online.

:The DramaWiki guidelines don't really have any definite rules about what singers/musicians can have artist pages here, but I would probably limit it to artists who appear on the official drama OST (ie. not just insert songs).

:I'm pretty sure all musicians (not just actual singers) are generally being lumped together in <nowiki>[[Category:KSinger]]</nowiki> just to keep it simple. There is also a <nowiki>[[Category:KComposer]]</nowiki> for soundtrack composers, which might be relevant in some cases.

:As to insert song artists, you could put in external links for them to a Wikipedia page about them. :I've noticed you've been adding them. I did too a while back, when I was still contributing to them. So I'll give you my two cents. I stopped contributing to IMDb, because it is very untrustworthy information for titles and artists that aren't main stream. This is because adding stuff is easy and getting it deleted or changed requires boatloads of proof and persistence to get the right people to make the changes. I've also observed that as a rule IMDb is never the first source of information when it comes to Asian titles. Furtuer more, because it's so easy add and hard to delete, many titles contain boatloads of popular artists that aren't in the title to get them to show up in searches.

Just listing sites, because they're also on there, but you've not used as a source, are not useful, unless they provide the content in English. This is the reason, while I personally don't bother with Douban. :The are no hard and fast rules as to the listings of external links and I expect that everyone has their own preferences. As for me, I generally list primary sources first (ie. official broadcast network pages, production company pages, actor's agency profiles, etc.), next more reliable secondary sources like Douban, HanCinema, or even Wikipedia, finally others like MyDramaList or AsianWiki. Uh I have no idea what you are saying because it sounds convoluted. But someone with only cameos aren't an actor. Many singers, producers, directors etc make guest appearances but are not labelled as actors. For more questions on Taiwanese entertainment, you can ask tinyloops or whoever. Maybe she/he can find more works of Fish Leong that shows that she has taken on bigger roles than a cameo.

I guess she does qualify as an actress because she has a supporting role in a movie, albeit it was more than ten years ago in 2010. But it should be placed after singer as thats her primary job.

==Synopsis==
Zhan Peng's father was a railway policeman who was posthumously honored as a martyr for his sacrifice many years ago. Influenced by that, Zhan Peng had always aspired to follow in his father's footsteps and serve in the very same station where his father once worked. However, when he finally arrived in Xiaotong and began his duties, he discovered that the situation there was far more complex than he had imagined. Upon first meeting Tu Hongjiang, he did not trust this veteran police officer. Tu Hongjiang's suspicious behaviors during the handling of a drug trafficking case even made Zhan Peng wary of him. However, as time passed, Tu Hongjiang proved his innocence through his actions. ==Synopsis==
In a specific time and space, detective Ding Qi accidentally discovered that he had the ability to reverse time and repeat the cycle five times on the same day from time to time. He used this superpower to solve many difficult cases.

==Synopsis==
During the Kin-lung era, the ''Hung Fa Wui'' (Red Flower Society) rose to prominence, aiming to overthrow the Manchu Ching rule. The Society’s chief, Yu Man-ting (played by Pak Ying), secretly entered the Forbidden Palace and revealed to Emperor Kin-lung (played by Simon Yam) that he was in fact of Han Chinese descent. For the sake of his own safety, Kin-lung killed Yu to silence him.
 
 
Yu’s adopted son, Chan Ka-lok (played by Pang Man-kin), who was actually Kin-lung’s younger brother, succeeded him as chief after Yu’s death and carried on the cause of restoring the Han and resisting the Ching.
 
 
Upon learning that Kin-lung was traveling to Kongnam (Jiangnan), Chan – together with Man Tai-loi (played by Shek Sau), Lok Bing (played by Barbara Chan Man-yee), Yu Yu-tung (played by Lawrence Ng Kai-wah), and the other fourteen leaders – went to Hangchow (Hangzhou). There, they used the charms of the famous courtesan Yuk Yu-yee (played by Jaime Chik Mei-chun) to lure Kin-lung to the Lok Hup Pagoda, where they laid out the stakes and pressured him to cooperate with the ''Hung Fa Wui'' (Red Flower Society) in their anti-Ching cause.
