==Synopsis==
This series is based on the 1987 American movie ''[[Wikipedia:Overboard (1987 film)|Overboard]]''. Anna Jo ([[Han Ye Seul]]) is a rude, feisty, and audacious American-bred heiress who can never be satisfied. Lee Joong-ah ([[Lee Na Young]]) is knitting a scarf--a green scarf. No, it's not a gift for a family member or loved one. She's alone in this world & been taking medication ever since she believe she'd "killed" her adopted family. Joong-ah is preparing the scarf to die with in the water, because it's cold--& made it especially long so it'll be able to tie her separated family together...

Kang Gook ([[Hyun Bin]]) meets Joong-ah in this mental state on a flight to Korea. Despite dressed in outlandish Irish costume, Gook tells her she looks Korean. He gives the same answer to a question which she repeatedly asks him, seemingly dissatisfied with that response. The first couple of episodes are very abrupt, while the viewer shares Joong-ah's in-the-moment antics. She's not quite sure what's she's looking for in Korea, maybe it's to see her motherland, or to seek her family whom gave her up for adoption, or to die in the Han River.

Gook is a young bodyguard, who's been with a rotten boss for years. Because Gook is a righteous character, he's often in this moralistic suffering between his loyalties to his boss, thus adhering to his wishes no matter how shady they may be, and his own consciousness to help those wronged by his boss. Ironically as a bodyguard, he's always out to protect others, and this is what attracts him to Joong-ah (later also Shi-yeon), but protection is what he himself lacks with this kind of man as his employer.

Han Shi-yeon ([[Kim Min Jung]]) was a child actress now making her living and supporting her entire family by working in soft porn. As the sole breadwinner, Shi-yeon's a girl who was forced to grow up too fast by the circumstances. Although she cusses like a sailor and appears tough on the outside, she has low self-confidence and is ashamed of her occupation, but she hasn't given up on her dream, to become a real actress.

Lee Jae-bok ([[Kim Min Joon]]) is a good-for-nothing bum who doesn't give a damn about anything. He wasn't always like this, but losing his beloved little sister to adoption and growing up in a broken family has made him live a despondent life. Perhaps that's why he's always looking to agitate his step-father in some way or another until he gets himself kicked out of the house. Jae-bok's ability to see through people's hearts (as well cite sweet romantic lines picked up from manghwas) provides Shi-yeon with a temporary comfort so she takes him in to her home.

Ireland is a drama that is distinctly different from sappy Korean melodramas, often romances with contrived tribulations (social boundaries, fatal illnesses, third parties, etc.). And the driving power is the drama's unusual characters. Characters whom I would argue could sustain even if they revolved around an entirely different story, because the story is rather insignificant.

This is because the setting takes place after these characters have suffered their own individual tragedies. The central theme is loneliness. Their hearts have experienced pain, been wounded and left scars behind. The 2 initial coupling naturally comes about out of a need for compassion, not necessarily love, but protection of one another in order to heal. Whether that happens is another story.

Dialogue is essential to characterization. In fact, Ireland is more of a drama of words. Interesting techniques such as inferential exchanges are used so the viewer enjoys it most by actively engaging in conversations rather than passively watching for action to play out. Surprisingly, other than a peck on the cheeks or a couple hugs, there're not much intimate encounters at all. The dialogue appears bizarre at times--the most unexpected lines come from Joong-ah & Kang Gook, which makes this pair especially memorable.

Bizarre doesn't mean unrealistic, but very witty and frank. It comes unexpected, because in real life, it's rare to see unreined openness, and more than that, creative. It comes somewhat as a shock when Joong-ah to tell her husband that she is having a headache, because another man is building a house & living in her head. Another example of going against normal expectations is a scene when a friend, while trying to console an upset Kang Gook tells him to stand by the window, because the moon will shine on him and make him look cool. In a moment like that, you'd think that was the last thing he's worried about.

Lee Na-young has good chemistry with Hyun Bin despite his younger appearance, and she's able to bring the best out of his performance, but that may have to do with the fact that they have the most emotional scenes together. His boyish charm (plus a mix of Jang Hyuk & Go Soo's good looks) reinforces both the gentleness & childlike irrationality of Kang Gook. However, most of the time, he is expressionless, & I'm not sure whether it's part of his "cool" character or his inexperience in acting.

An excellent actor nonetheless, but I personally felt that there was something missing from Kim Min-joon's portrayal of Jae-bok. Even with his wild hair, stubby facial hair, and street-gear, there's a dignifying or noble nature to this actor, and I didn't find the role of Jae-bok fitting for him. Also worth mentioning is Lee Hui-hyang as Jae-bok's mother. She was last seen in Stairway to Heaven as the evil stepmother, but in Ireland, she is a rather pathetic, vulnerable lady when it comes to her children. The peaceful marriage with her second husband provides a nice contrast with the troubled younger generation.

A point of interest is the concept of crying in Ireland. Compared to other Asian dramas, typical Korean dramas show the most freedom in unrestrained emotion for men, women, and children alike. It's apparent that tearful scenes are shot with aesthetics in mind--the tears either come like perfect raindrops or flowing waterfalls, but it's always beautiful. Ireland's characters are either very self-contained or exhibits "ugly" crying. It reminds me that that's it's really normal to have cry with your face all twisted up--to let those stifled cries out good.

After the examination of different aspects of this drama, I would say I liked Ireland's unique style, but the drama's merits turns out to be its flaws as well. The pace significantly stagnates middle-way while the ending just leaves me with a confused 'huh?' Not one of the 4 leads was easy to follow, condone, don't mention understand. The lasting effect of the drama is left by Ireland's characters, but these are neither characters any of us have probably seen even similar in comparison nor ones that viewers can easily associate with. I love unconventional works, but usually these works are only great when the viewer feels the bigger message, which I'm not quite getting here.

==Synopsis==
Someday is about four different people's story about love.

Hana Yamaguchi (Bae Doo-Na) was a successful young cartoonist in Japan. Abandoned by her parents and brought up by her grandma, she was cold and aloof and did not believe in love which to her was only a simple biological response. When the elderly neighbourhood street sweeper died, she discovered the affection between him and her neighbour which lasted 60 years. Hana could not understand this kind of love, so she decided to trace her neighbour's footstep to Korea when she disappeared with her lover's ashes.

Go Jin Pyo (Kim Min Joon) was a doctor who was a comic book fan of Hana. He was overjoyed in meeting Hana and believed that he was in love for the first time in his life. He decided to help Hana in fulfilling her wish to look for her neighbour and enlisted the help of a private eye, Lee Seok Man (Lee Jin Wook).Lee was the sole survivor of a car accident whereby his parents and brother were killed. He carried a lot of guilt towards the parents of the other victim and did his best to help out even at the expense of owing money to the loan sharks.

Hye Young (Oh Yoon Ah) was a PD of animation projects and a close friend of Jin Pyo. she didn't realize that she was in love with him till Hana appeared.

In bringing her neighbour's love story to fruition and published in print, the process changed the lives and outlook on love for these four people.

==Synopsis==
Hana is a bright young girl who lost her father at a young age. When her mother returns to Japan, she comes with her new Korean husband and his son Yunsuh. Yunsuh's mother died during his 10th birthday and after her death, he becomes autistic. While Hana is fond of her new step-brother, he wants nothing to do with her. When their parents leave on their honeymoon, Hana's mother leaves the children with her deceased husband's sister who will manage their inn during the trip. While they are gone, the aunt and her daughter Maya abuse Hana and make plans to sell the inn in order to pay for gambling debts and college. Despite all of this, Hana finds comfort in her brother who begins to open up to her and eventually speaks after his 20th Birthday and the day his mother passed away. Yunsush's mother died on the same day as he was turning 10, 10 years ago. As they start to have feelings for one another, Hana is afraid to love him. She soon leaves with her "senpai", Fujiwara Ryu, who also likes her. Later on, Maya gets jealous, and decides to make Hana's life even more miserable.

For once, something a little fresh, at least by K-Drama standards. We're talking body exchange, which has been done many times on the big screen, but rarely on Korean TV. The idea of Park Jin-Hee playing an Ajumma and Shim Hye-Jin going into sexy mode sounds just about right (the initial setup is the opposite, obviously), and if the script builds on the interesting outline, this could be fun.

Suh Tae-poong, ([[Lee Byung Hun]]), is a baseball player, who lost his sisters and brother. Suh Ji-suk, ([[Song Seung Heon]]), is a gum sa who is engaged to Soo-ha, [[Kim Ha Neul]]. [[Jo Min Soo]] plays the oldest sister, who supported her brother and younger sister Moon-joo, ([[Kang Sung Yun]]), who becomes a sool jib yuja. Tae-poong searches his whole life for his three sisters and brother. When he finally finds his oldest sister and Ji-suk, he is told to leave because he wasn't their real family. When Ji-suk's mom and Tae-poong's dad got married, Tae-poong wasn't the product of the marriage, he was the product of the before marriage. The story goes on to have everyone find each other... it's a good show... lots of tears are in the drama though... but it's really good...

==Synopsis==
This drama attempts to send a message that any human being is beautiful by just existing in this world. The thing about both of them having feelings towards one girl was that Gi Ju is Soo Hyuk's uncle and they had grown up like best friends since they were only about 7 years apart. Their feelings towards her slowly begin to be revealed causing heartache for all the people around them.

==Synopsis==
Sueng Hui ([[Kim Rae Won]]) is a director who was deeply in love with Hae Soo ([[Jung Ryu Won]]). Even though her family was opposed to Sueng Hui, Hae Soo still wanted to marry Sueng Hui. The resemblence is so startling that he can't help but stare at her and ends up following her. They eventually end up spending a few days together but after parting, end up meeting again when Bok Shil comes to Seoul and ends up working with Sueng Hui.

It is later revealed that Bok Shil is actually Hae Rim, Hae Soo's youger sister that was lost in a fire. Additionally, a close male family friend was secretly in love with Bok Shil's older sister and seems to be attracted to Bok Shil as well.

A new MBC soap opera "Which Star Are You From" will air from Monday, March 13, 2006. "What Star Are You From" is the first MBC soap opera by producer Pyo Min-soo, who is famous for his unique dialogue style. Kim Rae-won is joined by Choi Seung-hee and Jung Ryo-won, who plays a double role as his two love interests, in the show.

Choi Seung-hee is a promising young director. His first short film won a prize in a worldwide film festival. ==Synopsis==
During their childhood, Dong-ju and Ki-tae are both abandoned by their real parents. In the orphanage, they become best friends. A new MBC soap opera "Which Star Are You From" will air from Monday, March 13, 2006. "What Star Are You From" is the first MBC soap opera by producer Pyo Min-soo, who is famous for his unique dialogue style. Kim Rae-won is joined by Choi Seung-hee and Jung Ryo-won, who plays a double role as his two love interests, in the show.

Choi Seung-hee is a promising young director. His first short film won a prize in a worldwide film festival. He falls in love with Hye-soo (Jung Ryo-won) who is introduced to him by high school senior Jung Hoon (Park Si-hoo), while attending a party to celebrate his winning a prize in Australia. ==Synopsis==
Lee Soo-jung ([[Ha Ji Won]]) is a travel agent who is seeking her good luck in Bali after a harsh and unforgiving childhood. As a kid, all Kim In Ha ever did was follow his uncle around and help him cheat in gambling. As a high school student, he hangs out with his friends at the basement of a theater. Soo Yeon, who studied to become a nun, gives up her dream but in turn, she becomes a casino dealer at the same casino. The three meet again, and In Ha and Soo Yeon fall in love. When danger lurks In Ha, he runs away to the US, leaving Soo Yeon behind. They eventually meet again in Las Vegas, but become separated again when Soo Yeon thinks that In Ha is killed. Jeong Won, thereafter tries to win Soo Yeon's love, knowing that In Ha is still alive. In Ha returns to Korea as a millionaire gambler also gambling for Soo Yeon's love. The fierce competition in the casino world is thoroughly seen through this drama, as the ambitions of two men clash with each other: for money, success, and even women.

==Synopsis==
The story begins with a man named Kang Bok Goo ([[Bi]]), a tough fighter. His girl is Han Da Jung ([[Kim Sa Rang]]), much like Bok Goo, she's tough and she spends her day collecting money from people that owe her. Bok Goo's older brother, Kang Min Goo ([[Kim Young Jae]]), left Bok Goo ten years ago when they got into a fight. He had never seen him in ten years.

One day, he meets his brother for the first time in ten years. They chat on a tall building, talking about how their lives had been for the past ten years. On a giant t.v. screen, it announces the wedding of the famous superstar, Cha Eun Suk ([[Shin Min Ah]]) and Kim Joon Sung ([[Lee Ki Woo]]), the youngest son of a powerful company. Min Goo, in delusion that the Eun Suk he sees on the t.v. is the real Eun Suk, walks to the t.v. and falls of the building. Bok Goo sends his hyung [older brother] to the hospital and finds out that the damage done to his brother was so great, most of his brain is ruined and his brother is now a human vegetable. Bok Goo also finds out that the only reason his hyung did this was because Cha Eun Suk is his ex-girlfriend, though they broke up, he still loves her as she still loves him.

This marriage was only made because Eun Suk was drunk and she slept on stairs, Joon Sung only tried to wake her up, but he fell over her making it look like he was raping her. Someone caught footage of this and revealed it to the public. Joon Sung's father was ashamed of his son and got angry at him, and the only way to clear things up with his father was to marry Eun Suk though she strongly disagreed, she had to anyway to avoid shame to her family.

Bok Goo gets angry with Eun Suk because he believes she is the reason her brother is a human vegetable. To get her back for it, he applies to be her bodyguard and finds a way to make her fall in love with him by doing all the things his hyung (brother) had done for her in the past to help her remind herself of Min Goo. Bok Goo, in the act of making her fall in love with him, falls in love with Eun Suk and from time to time, forgets what she had done to his hyung. Eun Suk falls for it though, although she resisted. Little does she know that Bok Goo only plans to break up with her so she can feel the pain his hyung felt when she broke up with him...

And then there's Han Da Jung. What about her? She who loves Kang Bok Goo so much, and is scarred because of him. In truth, it seems to be a bit like Bok Goo is with her because he feels like he owes it to her. She saved him in a fire, and because of it, she has scars. What about this girl who would do anything for Bok Goo, and loves him to death. What about her?

==Synopsis==
Growing up as the best of friends, Sang-doo ([[Bi]]) and Chae Eun-hwan ([[Gong Hyo Jin]]) make lots of lasting memories during their shortened high school years. Eventually, he meets his long-lost first-love, Eun-hwan as a high school math teacher. In an effort to never lose her again, he returns as a high school student (to finish his last years of high school) and gets placed in Eun-hwan's class. In numerous funny yet heart-touching moments, Sang-doo vows never to become a gigolo again. Yet, his past deeds have caught up with him, and he is soon sought after by the police. This is a story involving vampire. It goes back to 250 years + when Baek Jung Won (Lee Seo Jin) saved the vampire I-wha (Son Tae Yeong) from being burned at the stake in his village. He fell off the cliff while they escaped and IW had to give him her blood in order to save him from dying and thus BJW was transformed into an vimpire also.

In the modern day Seoul, they opened a bar. One day BJW received a letter from his former love who was dying and entrusted him to look after her daughter Jang Ji Yun (Park Han Byul). BJW fell in love with this woman some 20 yrs ago but broke up without telling her the truth about himself.After her mother's funeral, JJY found a picture that her mother treasured a lot with someone looking like BJW in it and she set out to look for him. When she finally found him, she thought he was the son of her mother's long lost lover as BJW's appearance didn't change as a vampire. They fell in love and BJW decided to reveal to her the truth. In the meantime, the police was closing in on the vampires as some of them were killing humans. BJW went back to the village where he was borned with IW and boarded a light plane with the intention to be blown up in the sky to end all.

Adorable and sweet, ''Full House'' is full of great acting and enjoyable characters and brings to life a wonderful story of endearing relationships which compensate its replica episodes. Most notable is the gorgeous [[Song Hye Kyo]] and her unwavering performance as the charismatic Han Ji-eun. Also, the story provides surprisingly likeable characters with each having a crafted purpose to contribute to building the plot. Although the latter episodes begin to tie down the drama with repeated cause-and-affect situations, fans of [[Song Hye Kyo]] will not be disappointed with her presentation in ''Full House''. 

Adding a fresh character to her works, [[Song Hye Kyo]] takes front-and-center stage with her performance as Han Ji-eun. Effortlessly, she is able to put aside her renowned performances of old with an adorable giggle and a vibrant smile that even shines through her eyes. She brings realism to the character showing Ji-eun's aspiration and determination, her laughter and happiness, her foolishness and regret. Undoubtedly, [[Song Hye Kyo]] plays this role naturally opposite attractive [[Bi]] or Jung Ji-hoon and his fitting performance as Lee Young-jae. Of course, both stars are fortunate to play a part in a drama with well written characters. 

The drama is flavored with different types of likeable characters that similarly push the story forward with their foolish actions. First, Ji-eun and Young-jae thoughtlessly enter into a contract marriage even though they obviously loathe each other. Meanwhile, sly-fox Hye-won desperately tries to sustain Young-jae's companionship despite his marriage. Then, deciding to get involved because of the way Young-jae treats his wife, Min-hyuk knowingly risks their friendships and challenges Young-jae's love for Ji-eun. Finally, the top tier of this foolish cake is the surprisingly enjoyable friends of Ji-eun, Dong-wook and Hee-jin. These two continuously give the plot momentum with their hasty chatter and clever lies. All in all, the characters' irrational personalities are balanced with decency and purpose. 

Towards the end, the drama slow downs and the foolish love-war relationship between Ji-eun and Young-jae is redundant. Whether she is apologizing for upsetting him and doing the housework to makeup for her actions or he is, the same set up and execution is used for several episodes and begins to get old. 

Still, ''Full House'' ranks as a must see drama. [[Song Hye Kyo]] is a sure hit while the story's characters are easily revered despite their faults. With a little tolerance for excessiveness, viewers can walk away from ''Full House'' with hearts full of contentment. 

The music of Full House enhances the audience's love for its characters. Songs like Why's 'Unh Myung (translated to 'Fate', track one), Byul's (Star) I think I (track 4), and even Lim Jung Hee's 'Geh Deh Ji Geum' (not featured on OST) beautifully express Young-jae's and Ji-eun's inner struggles. Sung with strong conviction from Young-jae's position, Unh Myung has tender lyrics, "Like a fool, I'm regretting this late…I wished that it wouldn't be you." (KBFD translations) On the other hand, 'Geh Deh Ji Geum' and 'I think I', speaks of the Ji-eun's overwhelming feelings. It is lovely music for a lovely drama.

I truly adored this drama from the first episode till the very end. This is also partly because it was written by [[Kim Rae Won]]'s smile at first sight. I also discovered in this drama that he is really a good actor. His acting charisma distinguishes himself from others making him often standing out in the dramas he's appeared in. Also starring [[Kim Jae Won]], and [[Jang Nara]], this was a lighthearted drama that I found to be very very entertaining. [[Jang Nara]] plays a bad tempered girl who had often been outshined by [[Hong Eun Hee]] when they were young. Since young, they had not been able to stand each other, yet ironically, they meet again as adults and work in the same amusement park as a result of the meeting. [[Hong Eun Hee]] plays the total opposite of [[Jang Nara]]'s character as the angelic and beautiful character seen on the outside, but deep inside is full of jealousy and cunning schemes of selfishness. Hence, when [[Jang Nara]] begins to work in the amusement park, [[Hong Eun Hee]]'s workplace, the rivalry of the two is sparked as [[Jang Nara]] receives the attention of the son of the amusement park owner and [[Jang Nara]]'s childhood crush. The story is really cute, and many would just be contented by looking at two of Korea's best looking hunks. But [[Jang Nara]]'s good acting is also worth mentioning. This is a feel good drama, that is definitely worth watching.

Kim Joo Hee is Suh Jung Ho's secretary who tragically lost her parents 5 years ago in a car accident. Her sister Kim See Hee is paralysed from the accident and Joo Hee's fiance abandoned her after the accident to go to the US. He just happened to be Yoon Suk Ki who has returned and now works temporarily at the same law firm where Kim Joo Hee and Suh Jung Ho work, to be part of a big money laundering case involving the Korean underworld. Suk Ki represents the bad guys (headed by one nasty old man Hong) who are trying to stop investigations into the case while Suh Jung Ho is the morally upright lawyer who was sacked from his Deputy public prosecutor's job for conducting unauthorised investigations into the same case, some years ago. Much of the show revolves around the triangle: Suh Jung Ho who is married to a neurotic, childless alcoholic for much of the show; Yoon Suk Ki who is engaged to a violinist Debbie but is fooling around with his temporary secretary cum informer Yang Ha-Young ;and Kim Joo Hee who is secretly in love with her boss but at the same time cannot let go of her feelings for her old love Yoon Suk Ki. She could not accept that he had left her on his own free will. So as to stop the investigation into money laundering, Suk Ki makes use of the others to remove old files belonging to Jung Ho. But mistakes made by him and his driver cum protege Tommy complicate matters, resulting in Suk Ki framing Joo Hee for selling information. In helping the clueless Joo Hee through her tribulations, Jung Ho realises that he too loves her. But why does Suk Ki get her off the hook after framing her? While Jung Ho struggles between his principles and love for Joo Hee, Suk Ki tries to keep the terrifying reason for him abandoning Joo Hee and Joo Hee searches for her answer. Finally, she gets it but it does not bring her the closure that she has been looking for. Suk Ki proves his undying love and Jung Ho accepts that his principles are less important. The ending looks as if there will be a sequel...a gripping sweet story.

Tae-poong searches his whole life for his three sisters and brother. When he finally finds his oldest sister and Ji-suk, he is told to leave because he wasn't their real family. When Ji-suk's mom and Tae-poong's dad got married, Tae-poong wasn't the product of the marriage, he was the product of the before marriage. The story goes on to have everyone find each other... it's a good show... lots of tears are in the drama though... but it's really good...

==Synopsis==
Sad Sonata is a love story about two men and one woman. The young Joon-young ([[Kwon Sang Woo]]), who was raised by his mother who sold liquor to American soldiers, met the blind Hae-in ([[Kim Hee Sun]]) and they became childhood sweethearts. Then, Hae-in immigrated to the U.S. following her aunt and her uncle[American soldier that married her aunt]. ==Synopsis==

==Synopsis==
Want to marry a millionaire? Add one 'Average Joe', be one of eight women selected, and money from the television network station and you can.

Han Eun-young works as a clerk at a bank, trying to pay off the debts her step-mother and sister have piled on her. Kim Young-hoon is your regular, 'Average Joe', worker. He provides for his father, his older brother and his wife, as well as his younger brother. 
One day, PD Yoo Jin-ha is asked to take over the project, "Marry a Millionaire". Reluctantly, he agrees to handle the project. His search begins for the perfect man to play the 'millionaire'. His goal is to use a man who is an average worker, but can pull off the facade of a millionaire. Kim Young-hoon is that man. Although he works hard for a living, there are many who can easily mistake him for a rich guy. 
By chance, Eun-young is selected to be a particpant in the TV show. Although the women are not supposed to know that this millionaire of their's is just a regular worker, Eun-young knows his true identity. 
How? 
Simple. Young-hoon was her first love. After many years, they meet up again at a party. Although she didn't recognize him at first, she realized it was the young boy she had fallen in love with back in middle school. Although she says she made a mistake in liking him, being in the show with him is bringing up warm feelings once again.
