Machiko attends a senryu poem contest as a judge. At the venue, she comes across Junko, who is now working for the company hosting the event. Just before the contest starts, Machiko happens to learn that the subject of the contest has been leaked beforehand to one of the contestants. With Junko, Machiko confronts Junko’s superior who cheated. Junko grabs at him in anger and is forced to leave the company. Hearing about this and admiring the career woman for her enthusiasm for work, Machiko asks Junko to work as her temporary secretary and housekeeper for a week, until she finds a new job. Meanwhile, Shoichi, Kenjiro’s elder brother who left home long ago, makes some appearances in the neighborhood. Kenjiro tells Machiko that he is loose with women and not to deal with him if he appears. One night, however, they run into Shoichi on the street.
