Synopsis

A drama portrays the life of Murakami Nobuo, former head chef at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo who died in 2005. In 1939, Murakami started to work at the hotel as a cook. Fifteen years later, he went to Paris to be trained at a hotel. Returning to Japan, Murakami played a significant role in introducing the French cuisine to the Japanese people by appearing in a TV cooking show. During the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, he took charge of serving meals for the athletes from all around the globe. In the drama, Makimura Shintaro, the leading character who is modeled on Murakami, looks back on his career. -- NHK
