Synopsis
The 5th NHK Yorudora is Shoro Nagashi. This is a term that refers to floating lanterns that are sent down the river during Obon to honor deceased loved ones.
It's the summer of 1982. Singer-songwriter Sakurai Masahiko returns home to Nagasaki so he can participate in sending off the floating lanterns during Obon. It's the first Obon since his beloved aunt, Setsuko, has died. Before the festival, Masahiko is approached for an interview with a magazine, which makes him remember all of his happiest memories, and all of his most bittersweet ones as well. This is a heart-warming tale of love, life and death and the memories all of those leave with us.
