About Akiko
Originally a jazz singer, Wada Akiko made her debut in 1968. In 1972, she earned the Best Song award at the 14th Japan Record Taisho. Today, she makes many appearances on NHK Song Concert, and has hosted several TV shows. Wada is also known to be very direct and often critical of geinojin regarding scandals and signs of mental weakness, including Tashiro Masahi and Sawajiri Erika. --groink
