We're using the Hepburn rules to establish the lettering, but we're also dropping the special characters like "ō" in order for the letters to be search compatible with various web search engines like Google. If you do not believe me, try this exercise: Log onto Google and perform two searches: "NHK Kōhaku" and "NHK Kohaku". As of this writing, there are 143 hits for "NHK Kōhaku", while there are 17,500 hits for "NHK Kohaku". This is because characters like "ō" differ from "o" in the ASCII chart, which is what computers use in comparison or sorting routines. You also have to remember that until the early 1990's, computer keyboards could not even produce the "ō" character, which is why a great number of articles and such do not use it.

:::I would not recommend it. If for any specific reason, it is to keep the wiki database from becoming too bloated. Currently there are 3943 valid articles on DramaWiki. There are actually 9111 articles, but almost two-thirds of that number could be re-directs to the 3943 articles. If we said it was okay to do so, we could see literally tens of thousands of redirect pages generated, which IMHO isn't something we really need here. Remember that DramaWiki is a division of D-Addicts. And the DramaWiki, D-Addicts message board, and the tracker all use the same resources. So basically we just stick with the most popular spelling of words and go with that. I also noticed someone created a redirect page for a nickname. I want to avoid creating those as well. We're trying to prevent blank headlines from existing on all articles. We do, however, allow blank headlines for External Links and TV dramas because they're fixed into the artist template. :Even with combination of hiragana/kanji and katakana, all the words in katakana that reference loanwords should be translated, and the hiragana/kanji should be transcribed to romaji. Examples are [[Glass no Kamen]], [[Tokyo Tower 2007]], [[Mayonaka no March]], etc. In this mixed instance, you should use "Title (romaji):" even though technically part of it is not romaji. Only when all of it is a collection of loanwords, then that's when you use "Title: (language):", such as [[Sommelier]] which I believe is French. In that case, it sould be "Title (French):". There are however times where katakana are not used for a loanword. Example: [[Himitsu no Hanazono]] is ヒミツの花園. Even though ヒミツ is katakana, it is actually a Japanese word and not a loanword. So it should then be "Title (romaji):"" because we'd be using romaji for the katakana. There is some knowledge of Japanese needed when converting Japanese titles to Arabic. Hope this helps! YA Entertainment is a publisher of Korean TV dramas.  Sites like YesAsia and Amazon are vendors.  If you allow links to MBC, SBS, and KBS, you should allow external links to the YA Entertainment pages too. There is no difference. If you need a discription of the difference, let me know.  Since they are the sole publisher, I dont know what bias you are referring to. Being the sole publisher, those sponsors you refer to, can only benefit from a YA Entertainment link.

:Totally, totally wrong. YA Entertainment is a '''manufacturer''' of DVDs, preparing the TV dramas for sale to the West. They're NOT the creators of the dramas. If you look at the merchandise they're selling, they're all made by the TV networks you identified - MBC, SBS, KBS, etc. YA Entertainment is NOT a television network. D-Addicts has a relationship with YesAsia and Google Ads - they're the ones who are giving us funds to keep the tracker, forums and wiki alive. YA Entertainment is not giving us A SINGLE cent/won/yen/etc. by linking to their merchandise. We're very consistent with the no-commerce linking rule. We even ban linking to specific YesAsia merchandise, but host its banner for their storefront in accordance to their rules.

You can not purchase a dvd through YA Entertainment. Just like the TV stations, (MBC, KBS, AZN,IMAGINEASIA) they pay for the rights to do certain things to the dramas from the production companies. So resellers (yesasia)works with YAE to promote the dramas.

But compairing an informative external link where you can not purchase a thing to wikipedia profits for link programs is a little unfair.
