-She started out on a competition, during the first round, her voice started breaking while singing 'Return Home'. Hebe decided to sing a song with a lower key in the final round. However, because she was unfamiliar with that song, which happens to be Singaporean singer Kit Chan's 'Loving You' or 'Xi Huan Ni', she forgot about ten seconds worth of lyrics in the finals, messing up her performance. Nonetheless, the manager appreciated her straight personality and powerful vocals. Therefore, she became part of S.H.E and they were signed under the Taiwanese record label HIM International Music.
-Throughout S.H.E's five years on the scene, Hebe has always been unpredictable, but it is this quality thats endears her to S.H.E's fans. Hebe has also grown into a beautiful and mature, as well as a confident singer. She is able to sing & dance at the same time like her bandmates.Although she did not come in first (Selina Ren came in first, then Hebe, then Ella), the judges decided to take the top 3 winners and make them into a band.At first they were worried about the 3 girls not getting along, but after they lived together for 3 months, they became close like sisters. The name Hebe was chosen by her company after taking a personality test, it represents "confidence". She normally sings soprano while peforming, and to a lesser extent mezzo-soprano.
