Synopsis
Set in an aging neighborhood where traditional trades are gradually disappearing, the story revolves around a mystical mirror that originates from a paper effigy created by Uncle Liang, the owner of a paper offerings shop. After being brought to life through unusual circumstances, the mirror passes among several local shopkeepers.
As it moves through the community, the mirror becomes connected to the lives of a barber, a second-hand bookseller, a Kacang Puteh hawker, and a fortune-teller, each of whom faces personal and professional challenges. Through these encounters, the mirror influences their efforts to preserve family traditions, repair relationships, and confront unresolved issues from the past.
When the mirror eventually returns to Uncle Liang, hidden truths surrounding his own existence and his connection to his apprentice Cheng come to light, linking the stories of the neighborhood through themes of legacy, change, and mortality.
