| − | Saigou-san, Jonko's owner, made a pen to commemorate Jonko's first win, per Yuu's wish. He gave each person (Taro, Murakami-san and Yuu) a pen.

| − | At Shima Hot Springs, Ayako finally takes in a guest on her own for the first time. She discovers soon after that the guest was none other than her mother, Kayo. After her visit, Kayo went to Takasaki to visit Keita and Yuu. After Yuu went to bed, Kayo told Keita her major concern is that Dan doesn't get to spend quality time with his mother, and that he doesn't hang out with other kids his age. Since arriving at the hot springs, Dan hangs out with adults - especially Komada-san who continues to teach Dan paper crafts. She's also angry over Keita's treatment of the family's current situation seeing he's still hanging onto the factory. The factory is basically the object that split the family in half.

| − | The mistress (Kinuko) and Ayako saw a departing couple off at the Shima Hot Springs. Watching the couple walk away, Kinuko told Ayako she could tell by the way a customer walked whether or not they were treated well.

| − | Shuuji returned to Kido Spring Manufacturing late at night, drunk. He wanted to know why Keita decided to keep keep the factory, instead of taking on a much better paying job and keep the family together. Shuuji believes Keita is doing this to show the public that he and Wadakura Shoji destroyed Keita's factory and family. Yuu overheard the conversation, then told Shuuji off, saying he betrayed Keita, and that it was his fault for everything that has happened. He admitted that Rika told him the same thing, which Yuu was surprised to hear.

| − | Because of Yuu's knee problem, she can no longer play softball. Yuu's softball glove serves as a reminder of what she loves. Keita told her to hang onto the glove just in case the day comes where she can once again play softball. It's along the same reasoning why Keita wanted to keep the factory - in case he's able to bring the factory back to its productive life. Yuu ran into Kotoko at the horse stables. She told Kotoko she quit softball, and that the days of summer seem un-productive. Kotoko said things will change when Yuu goes back to school. Yuu admitted she doesn't get along with her school mates.

| − | The house was finally sold. Keita set a night meeting with the former workers so he can distribute the money to cover the severance pay. Ayako was able to get two days off, so she and Dan returned to Takasaki so that together she and Keita could meet the workers one last time. Before they went home, the workers voluntarily cleaned and oiled the factory equipment, as if they were saying "thank you" for the work it provided, and that maybe it'll be used again. At the same time, Yuu oiled her softball glove for probably the same reason.

| − | As the workers walked away from the factory, Ayako told Keita she could tell the workers loved the factory - by the way they walked. The next day, the four family members spent some quality time together, eating watermelon during the day, and then watched Keita make a six-sided spring. Both Dan and Yuu never watched Keita make a spring before. Dan said that his dad is great. Yuu agreed. That made Keita very proud, and she a few tears because of it.
