Meng Ximei (Wang Li Ke) is angaged to Lu Jianshan and their wedding day she gives him as dowry an enormous gold nugget from the mines. Lu Jianshan marries her but abandons her on their wedding night to join the communist fighters. She stays in her father in law's house where Guo lin falls in love with her. Then the war breaks out and the terrible events that follow will change everyone's lives. For the better or worse, we will see. | ||

Synopsis
