Synopsis
A collaboration between TBS and WOWOW, this drama is a remake of the Hong Kong famed movie Infernal Affairs, with Takayama Ryosuke as the mole for the Yakuza organization (Oda-gumi) planted in the Police force, and Moriya Jun as the mole for the police planted in the Oda-gumi.
The first episode, aired on TBS and titled "Sennyu Sosa Hen", focuses on Moriya Jun. The Oda-gumi is getting more and more violent, and the Police Chief, Onodera Riki, decides to plant Jun into the organization. Their objective is to catch the gang red-handed in their drug deals. No one other than Chief Onodera knew of Jun's existence, and after 6 years of his double live, Jun's mental balance is hanging on a thread. Wanting very much to return to the normal life of a detective, and yet being denied the request by Onodera, Jun decides to seek psychiatric help from Dr. Nishida Naoko. Meanwhile, Onodera starts to realise that there is an Oda-gumi spy within the police force, almost around the same time that Oda Taisei realises that a police mole has infiltrated their organization. It soon becomes a race between the two organizations, to ferret the spy out, and emerge the winner of the "war".
The second episode, aired on WOWOW and titled "Giso Keisatsu Hen" focuses on Takayama Ryosuke. Ryosuke was orphaned from young and a chance encounter with the boss of Oda-gumi, Oda Taisei, saw him being "adopted" into the Oda-gumi. Taisei treats Ryosuke as his own son, and even put Ryosuke through university. Upon graduation, in order to protect the "family", Ryosuke joined the police force. One day, Ryosuke meets the daughter of the MP (member of Parliament) Suenaga, Mari, and as he gets to know her better, her words "our lives are in our own hands" has a profound impact on him, and he starts to question his way of life.
