Hi YT,

I'm Daysleeper, new member here.

I want to ask you something, hopefully you can help me.

Here's the thing, I saw this page [[Harada_Ryuji]]  and his picture there is not in right box. How to place the picture in the appropiate box?

Thank you very much.

Click on the "edit" box and look what's wrong... (''little hint:'' The box is on the first line and the wrong images are the three next lines. You may also try the help page) --[[User:Le Piaf|Le Piaf]] 05:20, 28 Dec 2005 (EST)

==Inserting Images==

Most can follow this format:

  <nowiki>[[Image:insert URL here.jpg|thumb|description]]</nowiki>

or:

<nowiki>[[Image:insert URL here.jpg|frame|description]]</nowiki>

{|

|[[Image:YamadaTakayuki11.jpg|none|thumb|Yamada Takayuki]]

|[[Image:YamadaTakayuki11.jpg|none|frame|Yamada Takayuki]]

|}

If you want to go further and force the image to a certain size then insert the pixel size

<nowiki>[[Image:insert URL here.jpg|thumb|200px|description]]</nowiki>

Hi YT,

Thank you very much for the update you made upon my question. :)

BTW, I found this link containing the picture of actress '''Bold Takagi Miho''' (she played in [[Gakkou e Ikou!]], the old dorama with Asano Yuko and Fuse Hiroshi).

Maybe it can be useful somehow.

I think you should start learning how to insert images yourself. The

instructions are stated above.

All you have to do is upload the image using the link on the left hand menu "Upload file". --[[User:YT|YT]] 20:56, 1 Mar 2006 (EST)

== Drama Listings ==

Please make sure that when you add a drama to an artist's page that it is listed accordingly to the broadcast date and not just the year (i.e. with [[Sin Ho Ying]]'s page you recently edited). Thank you! [[User:Ladys07|ladys07]] 00:37, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

== Some hints to improve your editing ==

Thanks for your many many DramaWiki contributions. It would be nice if you would plan your edits a little more to (a) save some system resources and (b) make it easier for other editors who try to [[MW:Help:Patrolling|patrol]] the [[Special:Recentchanges|recent changes list]]. I noticed that some of your contributions (page edits) could have been done with less saves. Just in case you didn't know, every time you ''save'' an edit you create a new copy/backup of the whole article inside the wiki's database. It's a good idea to use the ''Preview'' button to see what your change will look like, before you save it. This helps reducing (unnecessary) saves, especially when testing edits.

Here are some hints to avoid some unnecessary edits/saves:

*preview (and test) an edit before saving it to reduce the number of consecutive edits due to typos or forgotten information

*somehow plan your edit before making the contribution (e.g. by collecting information offline) ... and try to create new articles with one edit

*postpone trivial (cleanup) edits until your next "real" edit

*do a full page edit instead of several consecutive section edits

*using multiple edit windows (in a tabbed webbrowser) helps a lot to test previewed edits or when working on several related articles

Last but not least, it is very helpful for other editors (patrollers) if you comment more of your contributions, especially when adding new information to a page. For example, simply use "+ring" when adding a dramaring (and remove the misleading "/* External Links */" edit comment in case you add the ring template through a section edit). Thanks and happy editing. --<b>[[User:MoerkJ|<font color=green>MoerkJ</font>]]&nbsp;<small>[[User talk:MoerkJ|<font color=red>talk</font>]]</small></b> 23:50, 4 Jul 2009 (UTC)

==Regarding your translations==

Hi YT~ It's really great that you're contributing a lot, but I've noticed that most of your japanese translations for episode titles, are incorrect or are grammatically awkward. It seems like you're just running them through a translator, however, when you do that it doesn't always capture the full meaning. I do appreciate your effort, but please refrain from translating if you don't know it well, since others have to go back and fix them or the wrong information will be given, and at dramawiki, as you know, we try to keep the information as accurate as we can.

Thank you! -- [[User:iwaseJEN|iwaseJEN]]

yeah i've just been running them through google translater and  some don't make sense. --[[User:YT|YT]] 00:39, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

==Hanazakari...==

Hey YT. For Hanazakari, I was stuck between whether it needs a new page or not, since it's a remake with a completely different cast. What do you think? Also the full title is a tiny bit different as well, and ja wiki is treating it separately from the first one. I wasn't sure about this one, since its not that common i don't think for japanese drama remakes. so any input? =) -- [[User:iwaseJEN|iwaseJEN]]

I think should keep under same page since same title and story and JP wiki have combined them together as well... --[[User:YT|YT]] 06:56, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

:: Hrm, I guess, but I also noticed most remakes get separate pages. Also ja wiki has it combined on the same page because its under the manga page, but its in aseparate section within it. But I guess we'll see as more information turns up, like if it has a completely diff cast i think diff page. But thanks~ -- [[User:iwaseJEN|iwaseJEN]]

:::If it has different title it should get diff page. Have you got examples of remakes that have separate pages? --[[User:YT|YT]] 13:23, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

::::Well the title for the first one is 花ざかりの君たちへ〜イケメン♂パラダイス and for the remake it is 花ざかりの君たちへ〜イケメン☆パラダイス. They obviously can't change the entire title since it's just that of the original manga's but they do show that it's different by making a very subtle change to the title. Minami-kun no koibito and Kou kou kyoshi are the ones that I found. I guess it's very unconventional for a tv station to make a remake within 4 years of the original XD

:::::Probably should get it's own page since remakes in the past have been handled this way. --[[User:YT|YT]] 02:15, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

==Guidelines for uploading new photos==

Hi YT, I just wanted to remind you of the photo guidelines for the profiles. I understand that many people would like to put up current pictures, however, quality comes before how current a picture is. Most of the pictures you uploaded were good, but some were unnecessary in that, the quality was lower than the previous (blurry, lower pixels, complete face not shown etc), so please keep that in mind for next time. And thanks for your contributions as always =) --[[User:iwaseJEN|iwaseJEN]]

Guidelines for uploading new photos

Hi YT, I just wanted to remind you of the photo guidelines for the profiles. I understand that many people would like to put up current pictures, however, quality comes before how current a picture is. Most of the pictures you uploaded were good, but some were unnecessary in that, the quality was lower than the previous (blurry, lower pixels, complete face not shown etc), so please keep that in mind for next time. And thanks for your contributions as always =) --iwaseJEN

I don't see much difference in the quality to the one you replaced as for not showing complete face not shown is a laugh. I only replaced Usuda Asami as her face was more tilted to the front. I think sometimes comes down to personal preferance. --YT 08:34, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply~ Personal preference is inevitable at times, but what I've been taught from other editors is that quality trumps personal preference. Well, file size isn't always an indicator, but in this case the original picture has a higher resolution, which translates to a more crisper picture, compared to the other one, which is pretty, however, they purposely edited it to create a more softer image by brightening up the picture. But what you can do if you find a picture you really like of an actor/actress is edit it yourself, like if you want to keep the picture you found, you can possibly take down the brightness, increase the contrast. --iwaseJEN
Like i said i did not see much difference in the quality of the picture i replaced. i do not hold magnifying glass to compare the picture quality. i certainly would not waste my time in editing a picture for better contrast. --YT 02:40, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Romanization of Names

Hi YT. Just a reminder to always check the romanization of names before you create a page for actors/actresses. Just within this month I found 3 created by you that had the wrong name romanized which led to confusions such as 2 pages being made for the same person and etc. I completely understand that it must be hard for you since you're not familiar with Japanese, but do try to search it online beforehand just to make sure. If you're unsure of some romanizations, feel free to inquire anytime =) --iwaseJEN

99% of articles pages for actors/actresses i've created are from romanization from other people that have placed them on the drama. I do not check these assuming they have created it correctly. So if it is wrong in the first place, i do not know... --YT 03:34, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
