Synopsis

This series revolves around the life of young 4th Prince Hong Li, the future Emperor Qian Long. Although he had always been the first and seemingly only choice to succeed his father Yong Zheng as Emperor, his maturation was not without its obstacles, hardships and pain. Sincere and straightforward, Hong Li tries his best to apply what he's learned from his studies to improve state affairs. However, contrary to expectations, this premature approach actually rubs Yong Zheng the wrong way. Under the direction of their teacher Mr. Tian, the 3rd and 5th Princes take advantage of the situation to flatter and please Yong Zheng, swaying his decision to pass the Imperial throne to Hong Li.
