Synopsis

Setsuko's family is hit by the devastating Typhoon Vera (also known as Isewan Typhoon) in September 1959, which resulted in more than 4,500 people dead and over 600 people missing. Her husband and daughter disappear in the typhoon, and while taking refuge, she meets an orphan whom she begins raising as her child.
