It's 1930. Xu WenQiang was expelled from his university when he was captured by the police for a protest. That was the last time he saw his love from the university. He went to ShangHai. To see her again, but 4 years had past by and she was the woman of Shanghai powerfullst man. After he got out of the train he unexpectedly saves a pretty lady, Feng ChengCheng. By then, he didn't know he would later fall in love with her. ChengCheng is the daughter of ShangHai's most influential triad leader, who has a relationship with WenQiang's old university love. The time that Wenqiang went away, DingLi proposed to ChengCheng and she accepted his offer. This serie is a remake from the original serie The Bund/上海滩 (1980), starring Chow Yun Fat as Hui Man Keung (Xu wenQiang) , Angie Chiu Ngor Chi as Fung Ching Ching (Feng ChengCheng) and Ray Lui Leung Wai as Ting Lik (DingLi). The original was cantonese.
