Hi! The grammar was a bit off because there was missing a verb in the original:
"The Memory That Connected to the the Real Perpetrator."
Should be: The Memory That is Connected to the Real Perpetrator
However, I like simpler titles and I went by the one that sounded best to me from the original Japanese, so I reworded them in my head a few times to the following:
1. A Memory That Links to the Real Perpetrator 2. A Memory That Connects to the Real Perpetrator 3. A Memory Connected to the Real Perpetrator
I simply chose the one with less characters, still similar to the first version and sounded best to me by ears in translation and grammar.
If you like the original, then the verb "is" should be added in between "that" and "connected." The current version may not look much different from the first translation, but grammar-wise, I think the current version is better. If it's bothering you, I don't mind you changing it back to the original as long as you include the verb. Now that I think of it, "A Memory That Connects to the Real Perpetrator," may work even better, however the grammar in Japanese is past tense so that's why I chose the third version. If I wasn't thinking about the Japanese grammar, I probably would have went with the second option.
For now, I went back to the original and revised it slightly on the drama page -- so it should show "A Memory That is Connected to the Real Perpetrator" now. If you like the sound of "Memory That is Connected" then I think starting the title with "A Memory" rather than "The Memory" is the best choice.
"A Memory That is Connected" has a deeper (voice intonation) sound to it so when hearing it spoken out loud, it feels more title-like. If changed to "The Memory That is Connected" then the sound when speaking the title out loud changes up -- like playing a higher note on an instrument, or singing a higher pitch, etc.
I have to admit that I'm a bit of an oddball. I studied some linguistics in college so I always end up listening for tones and such in things. The titles may not really be that different at all, but I hear it differently ( =_=;). *sigh*
