A story about a 20-year-old girl, Tsubasa, who dedicates her life to helping her family and their traditional confectionary store. But her peaceful life is turned upside down when her missing mother returns home. She starts to work at a small radio station to repay her mother's debt but in a strange twist of fate, she becomes a DJ. Tsubasa's missing mother, Kanoko, suddenly returns home on the eve of an important festival and drags the family into her trouble over her debt while Tsubasa is out to see her old friend, Shota.
- Week 2
Kanoko insists on mechanizing the confectionary shop to raise production and sales. Chiyo agrees to the idea despite Tsubasa's opposition. But the payment for the machine is swindled which brings the family to heavy debt. Seeing Tsubasa selling confectionary on the streets, Chiyo realizes the importance of maintaining the original taste rather than the brand and decides to give up the store. Saito, a real estate agent and the moneylender, orders Tsubasa to work for him to settle the loan.
- Week 3
Tsubasa is ordered to collect overdue rent from Saito's tenant who talks her into helping him set up a radio station. Meanwhile, Tsubasa's brother, Tomoaki, turns rebellious toward Kanoko who suddenly turns to act like his mother. To restore harmony, Tsubasa searches for the right radio frequency of her family. Kanoko is stressed out with Tomoaki's attitude and runs off from home.
- Week 4
Tsubasa tries to raise funds to operate the radio station. She gets depressed over her friend's plan to tell her feelings to Shota. Kanoko is determined that Tsubasa has a boyfriend while her father worries over Tsubasa's love. Tsubasa tries to help Shota, who sways between his dream of becoming a soccer player and helping his sick mother. Tsubasa offers a hand in carrying a Christmas event in town.
- Week 5
As Tsubasa's feelings for Shota heats up, he is admitted to a professional soccer team in Miyagi prefecture. He asks Tsubasa to come with him and asks her family for their approval. Chiyo strongly opposes to the idea, and Tsubasa cannot make her choice. Tsubasa's father sees Shota in private and asks whether he is really ready for the responsibility. When Tsubasa finally decides to accompany Shota, he apologizes her for his immaturity and ends their relationship.
- Week 6
Desperate for her new job, Tsubasa practices her radio reporting at home. She accidentally comes across a paper mentioning the past relationship between Kanoko and Saito. Tsubasa comes to sense that Saito could be her real father from the writing and Takeo's statement. Saito tries to protect Tsubasa from a stalker which makes Tsubasa realize even more of a warm fatherhood in Saito.
- Week 7
Preparation for launching the radio station is underway, but Tsubasa's poor D.J. upsets Manase. The staff finds it hard to keep up their spirit. Chiyo tells Tsubasa to quit the station. Shota encourages Tsubasa who is stressed over her family affairs and the station. She talks to her station colleagues and learns more about them which makes her to propose that they should all work as D.Js.
- Week 8
Tsubasa's radio show produced with Kanoko's help becomes popular among the listeners and Manase asks Kanoko to join the station. Tsubasa tries to secure her position at work. While trying to get interviews, Tsubasa runs into Manase's daughter, and learns his in-laws had taken care of the girl after his wife passed away. Recalling her motherless childhood, Tsubasa tries to set up their meeting.
- Week 9
Tsubasa's attempt to make Manase see his daughter fails. Manase is too disappointed to accept Tsubasa's idea to give another shot. The girl runs away from home but is soon found at Tsubasa's home where she stays over night. As the girl begins to open her heart through the warm attention of Tsubasa's family, Manase prepares to leave the town.
- Week 10
Tsubasa's store sales surged thanks to Kinako who came to work part time. Chiyo, however, is shocked to learn that Kinako was her late husband and his lover's daughter. Kinako tells Tsubasa that she wanted to destroy the happiness of Tamaki family, and Chiyo also tells Tsubasa that she had no affection for her husband. To heal the broken hearts of the two, Tsubasa asks Chiyo to talk about the origin of the confectionary made for Kinako on the radio.
- Week 11
Shota breaks his ankle during a soccer game and is hospitalized in Kawagoe where Tsubasa visits daily to see him and interview other people. One day Tsubasa finds her neighbor Asako taking care of a man with senior dementia. Asako says the man was in fact her father and that she was determined to taking care of him until his last breath. Tsubasa discovers that the man was pretending to be ill and thinks the man should also know they are related.
- Week 12
The radio station plans a karaoke contest under the theme of love. Tsubasa hopes to cheer up Shota but ends up in a quarrel over a trivial matter. Nobuko, the radio station staff, gets upset that her son was secretly seeing her divorced husband. Tsubasa persuades Nobuko to sing a song to remember of her ex-husband who was about to leave the country.
- Week 13
Tsubasa's friend, Mari, runs away from home when she finds out that Shota had moved to the radio station. Mari's father, Yasunori, drags her back home and asks what her problem was. Tomoaki tries to save Mari by telling him that his confession of love to her made her flee, which makes Takeo and Yasunori fight. Yasunori's wife was at first simply astonished at their childish fight, but the situation turns serious when she discovers a love note Yasunori wrote to Kanoko 30 years ago.
- Week 14
The radio station staff decides to put up a play for a community event. Chiyo and Namioka, one of the staff, is alarmed when they see the event's sponsor at the radio station because he was man of Chiyo's first love and also Namioka's father. Tsubasa tries to make the play a success to cheer up Shota who is stressed over his rehabilitation and for Namioka who is now told to return home. However, Manase who is cast as Tsubasa's partner in the play begins to be aware of his feelings for Tsubasa.
- Week 15
Tsubasa accepts an offer by a popular comedian, Ichiro, to be on a radio show in Tokyo for a week. Jiro who was hurt because his former partner didn't choose him for the position, takes over Tsubasa's weather reporting and talks about the changing seasons after realizing that the seemingly-unpopular program in fact had a few listeners. Ichiro comes to see Tsubasa in Kawagoe and persuades her to be on the show regularly.
- Week 16
Tsubasa enjoys Yuka's attachment to her as if she was the real mother, but doesn't realize Manase's feelings for her. Shota meets his father for the first time in 10 years and finds he is now homeless. Tsubasa can't find the right word for Shota who doesn't forgive his father who had left his family. A typhoon in Kawagoe inundates the river bank where Shota's father lives and Tsubasa asks Shota to go see him.
- Week 17
Tsubasa and the radio station staff come to know of Manase's feelings for Tsubasa from how he had rescued her in the flood. Shota, on the other hand, is desperate after being removed from the team's major players because of his injury. He lashes harsh words at Tsubasa and breaks up with her. Although Tsubasa tries to recover from the pain, she upsets the station's major sponsor during her interview. The station decides to dismiss Tsubasa to keep the sponsorship.
- Week 18
Tsubasa goes on a trip with Tomoaki who is worried over his sister and they end up staying at Kinako's house. Kinako's husband, a good-natured boatman, tries to cheer up Tsubasa by telling her she can get over by throwing her pain into a chasm. Tomoaki realizes that Kinako and Tomiji; the seemingly-happy couple, had problems because they had no child. Tomoaki takes them to the river where Tsubasa speaks Tomiji's hidden feelings
- Week 19
Tsubasa returns to Kawagoe, but the radio station was about to go bust after loosing a major sponsor. Tsubasa visits Saito hoping to ask for his financial support and runs into Shota who worked there. Saito was in despair by the death of his favorite samba dancer. Meanwhile Shota was agonized by having to give up soccer. Namioka's father, Katsushiro, who was fighting illness, was dreaming of a movie he had seen with Chiyo. Seeing their pain, Tsubasa decides to reopen a movie theater which now housed the radio station.
- Week 20
Tsubasa, who wants to make the radio station a place for the neighbors to mingle, plans a show for Takeo and Yasunori to talk about themselves when they were young. Tsubasa, however, finds many inconsistencies in Takeo's story which even Kanoko avoids to clarify. Takeo often visited the bar owned by Asako who knows Takeo's past as yakuza. One day, he sees a man who had betrayed him in front of the bar and spends the night there. The incident leads others to believe Takeo and Asako were having an affair.
- Week 21
Takeo goes missing out of remorse that his past had troubled his family. Kanoko blames herself for neglecting Takeo's feelings. Tsubasa remembers Saito's advice that people often go back to their life's turning point, and finds Takeo at a cheap hotel in Ueno, but he refuses to return home. On the day of Kawagoe festival, Tsubasa reads out her family's letters addressed to Takeo with the hope of bringing her family back together.
- Week 22
Tsubasa launches a project to encourage people who were trying to achieve their goals. A boy turns in his challenge to be in his soccer team roster to which the radio station decides to support. Mari also tries to write about the boy in a soccer magazine which Tsubasa finds problem because she believed Mari was in fact trying to encourage herself. After hearing Tsubasa's idea, Mari turns in her challenge to run in a full marathon.
- Week 23
Upon seeing that the radio station had successfully became a place for the neighbors to mingle, Saito decides to leave the town. Nobuko gets a new job for her son's entry to a new school, and Jiro decides to get back together with his former comedian partner. To rid Saito's last concern, Takeo asks Kanoko to works as a DJ at the station. Namioka decides to leave the station to take care of his ill father. Tsubasa and Manase became the only staff at the radio station.
- Week 24
Despite Tsubasa and Manase's attempt to save the radio station, the former sponsor, Fusako, presents a plan to redevelop the place and obtains the building's ownership. Manase, who was told to move out, declares to fight, but is gradually losing the game. Meanwhile, Kanoko tries to persuade Chiyo to see Katsushiro. To settle the long time discord between Chiyo and Kanoko, Tsubasa's family decide to speak up their withheld feelings for each other.
- Week 25
Fusako makes a conciliatory proposal for a new place at a low rent only if Tsubasa and Manase moved out within the year. Manase takes the plan into consideration, but decides to keep the place through listeners' help after learning that Tsubasa wanted to keep the place for the neighbors. Meanwhile, Fusako visits Tsubasa's house and Kanoko tries to make friends with Fusako. Despite efforts by Manase and Shota, they face what seemed the last day of the radio.
- Week 26
With Fusako's help, the station continues operation at the same place. The confectionery store moves back to its former premises. But Tsubasa still had agenda on her mind which was about her relationship with Manase and Shota. Kanoko plans to hold a second wedding ceremony with Takeo to reassure Tsubasa that she was a child in the family. Chiyo returns home after seeing Katsushiro pass away. It was finally the time to restore the proper role of parents and daughters.
