About David Chen
The first born son to an airline pilot and artist, David Chen was raised in the capital city of Taiwan. At the age of twelve, David moved to Los Angeles from Taipei to receive an American education. After receiving his bachelor's degree in economics, he returned to Taiwan in 2001 to pursue his dream of an acting career. His fresh face and tall stature instantly landed him in many commercial appearances. In 2002, he won TTV online's casting poll for the drama "Star" and was asked to play a lead role in the series. His performance as Ming An (Iceman) in the popular drama series My MVP Valentine boosted his popularity in Taiwan and abroad. Known for his versatility and understanding of both Chinese and American culture, he was also chosen to provide the voice for the lead role of Oscar for the Mandarin version of the 2004 Academy Award Nominated blockbuster, Shark Tale.
