Synopsis
In some way or form they always existed, but youth dramas in Korea gained amazing popularity in the early 90's, when Our Paradise started broadcasting on MBC. The show featured many of today's most popular stars, and started a huge trend which continued well into the late 90's, with shows like Ready Go starring Cha Tae Hyun, Yoon Son Ha, Jang Dong Gun and many more. Even series like School and New Nonstop airing a few years later created many stars, which was always one of the genre's most positive aspects. Where does KBS' Sharp positions itself within the world of Korean youth Dramas?
Like many of its predecessors, it's already creating stars - the most shining example being Go Ah Ra. Unlike many other youth Dramas focusing on male students, Sharp centers on Lee Ok Rim, a 16 year old student going through joys, failures, and all the strange emotions which have always been an integral part of good coming of age dramas. Picking up right where season 1 ended, this second season of Sharp sees a matured Ok Rim and her schoolmates' start their journey in High School.
