- KINO = K in O. K meaning K-pop or Korea, O meaning Ookubo (Koreatown in Tokyo, where the group started).
- The five members were chosen in auditions from among 1,000 contestants. Prior to their debut, they were studying in Japan.
- There was originally a sixth member, Kim Joon Gyeom (김준겸). However, he left the group before their debut.
- They were given the nickname "TVXQ of Shinjuku" due their rising popularity in Shinjuku and the comparisons to DBSK (TVXQ).
- The group disbanded on December 26, 2011 due to various issues such as differences between the members and their agency, as well as trouble with their visas.
