Synopsis
After a mental breakdown caused by her exploitative boss, Ye Youming, game designer Zhao Yining is unexpectedly transported into *Tales of a Thousand Nights* —a game she helped create —where she inhabits the role of the heroine, Qian Yunxi. To return to the real world, she must complete an assassination mission. Upon discovering that the game's male lead, Ye Youming, is the spitting image of her unscrupulous boss, she eagerly accepts the system's quest, determined to stage a satisfying "counter-attack" by an underdog worker against her oppressor.
As Ye Youming's wife, Qian Yunxi racks her brain to devise assassination attempts; though she fails repeatedly, she remains undeterred. She faces a character designed with maxed-out stats— after one attempt, she is shocked to find him completely unscathed. Just as she falls into despair, the system updates: true love is the only way to break Ye Youming's invincibility, meaning she must make him fall in love with her. Thus, the "assassination overachiever" transforms into a "love con artist." While plotting to win his heart, Qian Yunxi embarks on adventures with Ye Youming across a perilous world of spirits and demons, and amidst the mounting dangers, the two gradually develop genuine feelings for one another.
