Synopsis
Chu Zhao, the daughter of a general, unwittingly marries Xiao Xun, heir to the Prince of Xiaonan — only to bring about the massacre of her entire family and her own bitter death. By fortune, she is reborn before the wedding and vows to rewrite her fate. during the Anping rebellion, she risks her life to escort the imperial grandson into the palace to ascend the throne, personally cutting off Xiao Xun's path to power and securing for herself the title of Grand Princess Protector of the state.
With a young emperor on the throne and the realm in turmoil, she devotes herself to governance, struggling to survive amidst the predatory schemes of powerful ministers and imperial relatives. Xiao Xun’s ambitions never died, however; he colludes with foreign enemies to threaten the borders. Chu zhao inherits her father’s legacy and joins forces with Xie Yanlai, to command the frontier army. Trough wisdom and courage, she fights her way across the battlefield, ultimately quelling both internal strife and external threats to the Chu Dynasty, rising to become a true master of her own destiny, and that of the realm.
