Cao Yang (曹楊 Young) is a singer who started his journey at 12 years old when he received formal music theory lessons that led him to compose and learn the guitar. At 17 years old, he won first place at a competition (5th校园音乐先锋邀请赛) hosted by the Shanghai Media Group in 2008. Since then, he has participated in several competitions such as Q'GGLE Next Star! (2007), 2017 Next Idea Young Actors Competition, Sound of My Dreams Season Ⅲ (2018), Sing! China 2020 on Nicholas Tse's team, and The City of Musicals (2022).
Cao Yang attended the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and graduated in 2011 with a focus on musical theatre. His first musical was Luo Lan (樓蘭), and his most notable role was playing Ye Xiang Lun, the lead actor role, in the musical version of Jay Chou's Secret. While Cao Yang continues to star in musicals, he joined Jewel Music in 2017. He has lent his voice to popular dramas like The Little Nyonya and Why Women Love.
