geoffropuff says: See it

The thing I really like about this show is that it is fun to watch. The characters, and actors who played them, had very good chemistry. I was constantly chuckling to myself because of some random joke or facial expression.

The story is very typical of a Japanese drama. Girl around age 20 gets pregnant. Father finds out. Father gets angry. Daughter decides to have baby anyway. Father of baby tries to show he can be a good match for daughter. Etc. There's nothing here that I haven't seen as far as story goes, but the show did manage to thoroughly entertain me. They did a good job of making the show serious when it needed to be, but humorous at all other times.

The 6 main characters, played by actors Takenouchi Yutaka, Hirosue Ryoko, Ishida Yuriko, Tsumabuki Satoshi, Abe Hiroshi, and Katase Nana complimented each other very well. Yutaka and Ryoko, both unreliable, were a pair. Hiroshi, unreliable, and Yuriko, reliable, were a pair. Satoshi, reliable, and Nana, unreliable, were a pair. This show revolved around each person trying to show their counterpart that they were a good match, making for some very funny situations. (read: Satoshi and Nana's situation was especially funny)

The actor playing Chiyo's dad did well being the overbearing father. He wasn't anything special over the other actors who play these types of roles, but he did make stand out as one of the meaner, caring fathers out there. I don't know if that made sense, but whatever. Ryunosuke's mother was plain annoying. Her voice was very shaky and high pitched, not nice on the ears at all. However, she was meant to be this way, so I won't fault the acting.

I personally found the music in this show very good. Is it You by Hitomi is a very nice song, and I found its instrumentals were appropriately placed in the show, without being played out. Your Eyes Only by Exile is also a great choice for this show. When I hear that song, I think about a person sitting there thinking about their love who is not present at the moment. It was used exactly the way I would have imagined it.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a romantic comedy. The acting is great. The characters are great. The music is awesome. Go check it out.
