A minor edit to a DramaWiki page is an edit which most other contributors would agree is minor. When editing a page, a logged-in user has the option of saving the edit as a minor edit. Users may choose to hide minor edits when viewing the list of recent changes.
When to use minor edits is somewhat a matter of personal preference. The rule of thumb is that page edits that are spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a minor edit. Furthermore it is recommended that experienced contributors mark their edits also "minor" when doing certain maintenance work which need no extra attention on the Recent Changes page. Such tasks could be:
- adding pages to categories (manually or through templates)
- marking pages (e.g. for cleanup or expanding)
- stub sorting
- typo corrections
- fixing formatting (e.g. fixing tables, layout errors)
Marking a significant change as a minor edit is considered bad behavior.
