Synopsis
In an old tenement house at Huaxiang Street, six youths and their families live in Singapore post-World War II. Zhao Ming Xing, "Star," dreams of becoming a star and attempts to fulfill his dreams. Sun Zi Bin is friends with Ming Xing and works in the office of the TV station, has a younger sister, Sun Lian Jing. Han Yong Yong was adopted as a child by a couple that raised her like a boy. Of the couple's three daughters, Han Rou Rou is known as the beauty of Huaxiang Street, who has her heart set on marrying a foreigner. The tenement house is owned by bakery owner Qian Cai Fa and his wife Jin Yin Jiao who lives with their sons Qian Yi Duo and Qian Er Duo.
