Synopsis[edit]
The superb private detective, Suguro Takeru is back with a new case in this special drama, this time based on Agatha Christie's 1926 Hercule Poirot mystery, "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd", with screenplay adaptation by Mitani Koki. In 1952, years after the Orient Express Murder Case, Suguro has retired from detective work and moved to a peaceful countryside village to cultivate pumpkins. However, Kuroido Rokusuke, the village's wealthy personage was found murdered inside his study room, stabbed in the back with his own dagger. The victim's adopted son and heir, Hyodo Haruo is the primary suspect. Believing in his innocence, the victim's niece, Hanako wants Suguro solve the case. Suguro accepts the challenge, and asks the village doctor, Dr. Shiba Heisuke to be his assistant. It seems everyone present during the night of the murder has an alibi. However, certain clues lead Suguro to believe that each of them is keeping some kind of secret as well.
