In 2009, she starred in the lead role in 7 Mannin Tantei Nitobe, she portrayed Tsugumi Nitobe a plain ordinary college student who has thousands of friends on the internet and how she solves cases because of their help and guidance. It was her first lead role, and she was the drama series center of attention, her role earned her praise by critics and audiences alike.
In Japan, she had plenty of opportunities to improve her Japanese language skills. In 2011, after graduating from Horikoshi High School in Nakano, Tokyo, alongside fellow actresses Kawakita Mayuko and Narumi Riko she decided to go to college to earn herself a degree and to be able to furnace a career path.
She abruptly dropped out of college a couple of years later in 2013, before starting her third year in college in order to be able to focus solely on her acting career. It was difficult for her to keep the proper balance between her college studies and her acting career, it was tough for her because she kept failing classes because of her work schedule acting in several television dramas.
On 2012, she was named the Best New Actress of 2011 by film magazine Kinema Junpo. Her professional profile in television and film was increasing more and more. In 2017, she was confirmed to be part of the cast of Deadpool 2, in the role of Yukio opposite actors Ryan Reynolds, Zazie Beets and Josh Brolin. She is currently filming a Netflix original titled Murder Mystery that is going to be released sometime in 2019.
