Lee Dong Wook was born in Seoul on November 6, 1981. He is the oldest sibling of four children. His family came from a very humble background, and they worked their way up to middle class. He started to support his family financially after he made his debut in the entertainment business, while in high school. During his college studies at Joongbu University, he appeared in a series of guest spots in television. He completed a degree in Broadcasting and Media Arts.
