Synopsis

19 years ago, Qiong Hua Sect used the double swords of Wang Shu and Xi He to trap the demon realm and seize spiritual power, triggering a war between mortals and demons, with heavy casualties on both sides. Due to their disagreement with Qiong Hua Sect's cultivation philosophy, the disciples of Qiong Hua Sect, Yun Tianqing and Su Yu left Qiong Hua and went to Qing Luan Peak, a place with mortals and demons could co-exist peacefully. There, Su Yu gave birth to their son Yun Tianhe before soon passing away. The young Yun Tianhe is not aware of his parents' past, and his father Yun Tianqing also passes away due to illness, leaving him to grow up alone on the mountain.

One day, Yun Tianhe runs into Han Lingsha, a young lady born into a family of short-lived tomb robbers who breaks into his parents' tomb while searching for the the legend of the spiritual sword. Together, they embark on a search to find out Yun Tianhe's true identity and past. Along their journey, they get acquainted with Liu Mengli, adopted daughter of the Magistrate of Shou Yang, who joins them to find her birth parents. In order to understand his father's past, Yun Tianhe, along with Han Lingsha and Liu Mengli, become disciples of the Kunxu Qiong Hua Sect. Qiong Hua Sect assigns Murong Zi Ying, who is similar in age, to mentor them, and the four become companions. Together, the youths discover the past events between the Kunxu Qiong Hua sect and the Illusory Demon Realm; and get entangled in the conflict between mortals and demons. In the face of adversities, each of them has to make their own choices to resolve the impending disaster...
