Synopsis
In 1994, tax auditor Ouyang Xu, criminal investigator Yan Ping'an, and Zhou Haiyang — who was searching for his missing wife—met as young men through a counterfeit invoice case. Together, they solved tax case after tax case. But as times changed and their paths diverged, the three were pushed toward different fates. Driven by their own personalities and ambitions, they made different choices, eventually drifting apart — their fates taking opposite trajectories, some of justice and some of crime. Now, their lives intersect once again through "Operation Guyu."
Once brothers, now adversaries, Ouyang Xu finds himself pitted against Zhou Haiyang's tax fraud ring and the shadowy "protective umbrella" behind it. In a battle between emotion and principle, layer by layer, they unravel the truth behind a string of tiny invoices—exposing greed and corruption. In the end, a storm of audits sweeps away the filth, and justice restores integrity to society.
