- Teen actors Wu Lei and Jiang Yi Yi partner up for the second time after their collaboration in The Romance of the Condor Heroes.
- Although Yang Yang has a number of works under his belt, Whirlwind Girl is technically the first project where he headlines as the lead.
- Aside from Yang Yang, Zhao Yuan Yuan and Yu Hao Yang who have had proper dance training, Hu Bing Qing, Chen Xiang, Wu Lei and the rest of the cast members had to start from scratch as they all underwent extensive training in Taekwondo to prepare for the role.
