Information

I grew up around Asian dramas. Some of the ones I remember watching with my mom are Dae Jang Geum(Chinese dubbed), Virtues of Harmony, Wars of In-Laws, and Princess Returning Pearl. Even though I didn't really understand what they were saying, but the way the characters said things or what they did sparked ideas on what was going on.

Favorite Dramas (There will be spoilers)

Wars of In-Laws: I really love this drama because of many number of scenes. When Liza Wang's Sheuklan confronted Christine Ng's Lung Haohao, Myolie Wu's Tinlik came to save her aunt from Sheuklan. It was such a thrill when I watched this scene because Tinlik stood all high and mighty, un-phased by Sheuklan's rank or overall domineer. Then there was another scene when Sheuklan and Haohao are in a boat, where Sheuklan tries to stir trouble. Then, a fire starts, and Haohao pushes Sheuklan to safety, sacrificing herself. I admired Haohao's selflessness and also Sheuklan's attempts to save Haohao. But Tinlik's grievance over not being able to save her aunt is what made this scene so heartbreaking.

Empresses in the Palace: Probably a cliché to love this drama, but I'm gonna love it anyways. This drama is one of my favorites because despite the length of this drama (76 episodes), each episode brought something new or unexpected that I was just amazed about. I love Jiang Xin's Consort Hua because of how she was arrogant and domineering, but I didn't hate her character because I knew of the grievances and the reasoning behind her arrogance.

Bu Bu Jing Xin: I originally watched Gong with Yang Mi first, but then I fell in love with Scarlet Heart. Both shows are kinda the same. A girl from the present travels back to the Qing Dynasty, where she becomes entangled in the fight over the throne between Yinzhen and Yinsi. I love Scarlet Heart because of the perfection it carries. The outfits are on fleek, the princes are all so hot, and the emotions are so exciting. I loved how the ending was thrilling. When Liu Shi Shi's Zhang Xiao returned to the present, and stumbles upon an exhibit of what she has grown accustomed to seeing (from traveling into the Qing Dynasty). When she utters "I really did exist," I was beyond amazed by how powerful and emotional this line was.
